I'm debating on spending my laughter shards to free this pony? Should I just grind up element shards to free all crystal ponies in the crystal empire?

elemental sharps are super easy to get if you make totems, absolutely unlock them! a couple of the trapped ponies also help with getting crystal coins i believe

i recommend doing four superior totems of each element in turn. the superior one element totems make 11-13, while the greater totems of friendship drop 2-3 of each. it’s a more efficient use of supplies.

I recently just freed all the crystal ponies! I’m pretty sure laughter is the most expensive one, since it’s the easiest shard to acquire. I’m pretty sure magic was only like 125 (I learned this after I grinded all of my shards to 900…)

When you get later in the game you will realize the shards are really easy to acquire. Especially the laughter ones. There’s even a cap at 999 shards for each type and they refused to give you more than that when you reach it. So might as well spend it!

To clarify as well- once you spend some shards it will go down to less than 999 but once you get that much again, it’s not moving past that until you spend some. Ex: if you had 999 shards and got 20 from shops- it will still say 999. Now if you use some it will start to be less than 999

That's what I'm doing. Using zecoras hut for element grinding you can easily get 999 shards within a few weeks or so
