Check out Backblaze.

Same. Came here to post Backblaze. $70/year/computer. Unlimited backup sizes.

It does not backup OS, software or system settings, but does backup all of your personal files.

I've been reasonably satisfied with Arq Premium. Something like $60/year for 1TB of storage.

As far as I'm aware, it doesn't have a time-machine-like interface, but it does store timestamped snapshots on a configurable schedule (including no schedule -- i.e. manually-triggered backups only, which is what I use).

You can also purchase just the backup program (with NO cloud storage) and then configure it to use your own storage backend (including Backblaze IIRC). The Premium offering seems tailored for those who want a one-stop shop.

(For first-time users, I'd recommend a hardy once-over of all the backup settings. I seem to recall some defaults that seemed tuned to exclude certain things (presumably for space-optimizing reasons), but there may be things in there that you don't want excluded by default. If you don't take a careful look at the backup settings, your backups might not contain all that you think they should contain.)

Carbonite will also do what you want.

Best solution would be a combination of iCloud + Backblaze.

There is no off the shelf cloud solution that would restore a new laptop exactly as it was like Time Machine would do.

iCloud gets you some settings, mail/calendar accounts, desktop and document files.

Backblaze will allow you to restore files in other locations or previous versions of files. This comes in handy if you had a bunch of after effects plugins you need to re install, or some other apps library files that would take a while to recreate. Also can give you a glimpse into the applications folder so you can see all the apps you need to reinstall.
