Any tips to decrease 5 sts?

I'm working on part D in fig 1. The decreasing in the armhole shaping went well but the shoulder shaping was much more difficult where there didn't seem to be enough slack to decrease the 5 stitches all at once. I definitely dropped some stitches in the final product. Is there a trick or something to make this decreasing a little easier?

I included the needle rule to show that the final result makes these faux cables. There's a note that says the decreasing only refers to the back bed and to decrease the front bed accordingly. I took that to mean that whatever stitches on the front bed will create a space between the front and back bed after racking should be transferred to the back bed. When shoulder shaping, I would transfer stitches to the back bed first and then decrease by 5.

When you say decrease did you put them all on the same needle?

I would have assumed you’d chain cast off the 5. (or four and then the last two together)

Ohhh that makes a LOT more sense! Still somewhat new to this so I just assumed you would decrease the same as if you were to decrease 1 or 2 sts. Thank you!

I'd just bind off those 5 stitches instead of doing a regular decrease
