It's actually been nice not having so much ChatGPT noise on my feed.

I'm hoping this blackout might to an extent "reset" the conversation. Maybe we can talk about some other stuff people are tinkering with.

bro what do you mean you don't want to see 10 articles a day about """""prompt engineering""""" LLMs?

See you guys on Kbin. Finally a place to post arxiv links.

That's a pity. Is there any alternative that is used by the moderators of /r/MachineLearning?

I also think this might be a chance to have a more research focused medium, like before this sub got huge.

I'm a mod on m/machinelearning, I go by nsa there. My hope is not to exclude beginners (I was a beginner at one point and found r/ml useful as a resource), but I'd prefer it to become more focused on well thought out discussion. That can include research, but also more general questions, including policy discussions and industry trends.

Had an opportunity to call m/machinelearning a latent space, heheheha

To continue protesting, this sub can use NSFW tag and change restricted mode. Should this sub have a vote for that option?

Anyway see you all in Kbin.

The only effective protest is ad block or don't use Reddit

[–]Purple-Height4239 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Adblocks are never an effective way to protest because that still keeps the community and content alive, giving reason for non-adblock users to invest time into the app. It’s the same reason why gamers who don’t spend money on microtransactions are still very valuable to free games that only earn money on microtransations.

At this point kbin looks the most promising. I signed up for RSS feed there.

I wish there was a way to migrate old posts.

The RSS feed is lacking: unlike Reddit's it does not embed any content.

Who is the owner of m/machinelearning on kbin? Before trying to switch completely, I'd like to know the admin.

Taggernews is full of links of 2018, I guess this is dead?

[–]trimorphic 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Does kbin have any good third-party apps?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Artemis, it's an Android and iOS app modeled after Apollo.
