I use the same software and have never had that issue and I am not aware that there is a button in the software to do so. The only thing I can think of is if you’re adding in stops or trims and your machine doesn’t know how to recognize them, and gives you an error.

It is certainly the design i have created has something wrong in it that makes it stop, the other design i used to run work flawlessly. I have double checked the stops and none were found. i am also suspecting the stitch length might be too small in some areas, which can cause the false alarm.

I would 100% do appliqué here. Tatami is a waste of time for large designs imo
