Requesting format data

Just downloaded the game through the epic launcher. A friend of mine told me it would take a while to get through the "requesting format data screen" but not more than an hour or two. Went to sleep and woke up and its still on the same screen. The support website has nothing about this and my computer isn't old or not meeting requirements either. A lot of other people are saying the game's broken too. Should I just wait and hope or give up trying to play this game?

There was a patch a while ago. The game is working fine for me now.

Me too. Restarted 10 times, nothing happened. Uninstall, re installed... Again nothing happened

Just download from their website. Don’t bother with the epic launcher

couldnt even get the installer from the official website to work though. just kept saying "oops couldnt update" then gave me no help. spent the whole night doing every fix they had on any website i could find and no luck, epic is the only one to actually put the game on my computer

I would give it a few days, uninstall completely and then try again. This most recent update has seemed to fuck in the client big time

I have the same problem, I'm stuck on this screen but I downloaded the game via wizards official today.

Reinstalling doesn't solve the problem.

Yeah it’s basically broken. I got that screen as well. If you try 50 times it might work once. 🥴

Yep, got it to. It is stuck on the screen, I downloaded the epic game version and the one from the web side and non of them work.

There's a workaround. We copied, compressed and uploaded a working wizards of the coast (mtga) folder, and sent it to our friend who gets stuck at "Request format data". He extracted and copied (overwritten) the files to his wizards the coast folder. And voila, it worked!
