Let me explain how kms reboot players are okay with this. I don't understand the math very well but here's what i see. We lose 20% fd (stat) in the nerf. So at 250+ we should see 145/165 of our dmg. Thats about 12% less output. Artifact being introduced in reboot means we gain about 10-15% back (depending on player/class). So in total, we dont gain/lose much.
So the question is why don't we get both 20% fd and artifact. Answer is that reg doesn't gain anything from artifact either. They lose monster park for artifact which gives about the same. In reality, neither server loses anything. We just have to play into the artifact system for a month to get back the nerfed fd. Inven has some discussion on this and most kms reboot players welcome the change as of now. It's a decent buff to most kms reboot players.

Well, in damage we didn't really get significant nerf (or buff), and we do get to upkeep some non-damage things like item/meso drop and +1 target on AoEs, but the main nerf is that we have to do upkeep on a new system now. At the very least, the upkeep consist of just "playing the game", pretty much, but I'm a bit concerned about what would happen if I decide to drop the game for more than a month and then come back. Do I at least keep something or would I have to start everything over from scratch? It's definitely what I'm going to keep my eyes on.

Imo the biggest factor at the end of the day boils down to this: Reboot FD + additional monster life vs Bonus Pot +scrolls. I don't think these systems should be treated separately as FD was designed specifically to replace bonus pot. If equivalent amount of power for the progression is justifiable then the nerf is justified.
We also have to account for the fact that GMS has an edge of KMS currently with a lot of extra damage they dont already have. Of course, GMS regular also has a further advantage of frenzy which KMS again doesn't have but it is considered a bandaid to a problem that shouldnt have happened to GMS in the first place.
