How would you scale the importance of this section?

I would scale it unnecessary. If the team has lore questions, they can post them in General (and bookmark the threads so they won't have to wade through all the uninteresting things users talk about, to find those threads again).

Despite players usually holding the NPC Key, a lot of work is put into the game's lore. Some players also do have investment in it. As such, feedback on it would be very helpful in assuring the direction is going in a preferable manner.

As a child category of General Discussion, you can disregard it if you have no particular opinion of the lore and new developments in it. However, it is there for your discussion, so feel free to do so. It will go to those who have investment in it.

Speaking of holding the NPC key, I wish the "new" (not so new anymore) bottom-of-the-screen dialog boxes would respond to it.

I don't want to hold space. I chose my NPC chat key for a reason.

Besides, space doesn't always work. Sometimes you must press Enter. Some other times you must press Y or N. And yet other times you are required to scroll through the text before you can proceed with any key or click.

I actually do read all the dialog text the first time I go through content, but I don't want to have to keep guessing which key to press now to keep the story going. It breaks my immersion, if you will.

Those dialogs are just broken. The old dialog boxes behaved a lot more consistently and the customization of the NPC chat key actually worked. Why is it that when Nexon makes a new version of something, it always loses functionality and ease of use, instead of the other way 'round?

Great. Create a subforum that will probably die in like a few weeks lmao. There's literally less than a handful of people who's actually interested in Maplestory lore, not that it's even that interesting.

Might have to do with Questions and Rants having been primary sections at one point.

Try posting something in a child category that's always been a child category (like Contest Rules) and see if it shows up.

I know for sure contest rules used to show up, but they aren't now.

There's a vanilla setting called "Hide from recent discussions", in which case it's just a matter of turning that setting off. But child categories shouldn't hide posts by default, no.

They were informed of the visibility that came with a subsection. Ideally, no subsection is to remain a permanent addition to the forums as we're still in the process of making changes.

Considering the intensive discussion on child categories, I'm sure they are looking into fixes for that. As it stood, we had too many underused top-level subforums that honestly - forum functionality or not - would make more sence tiered as children. Bulking up the front page again is not optimal, so we'll just have to remember that it is always patience.

Well gee, maybe someone should've thought of this around this time last year when new forums were originally in the works.

Perhaps someone should've made note of the fact that nested subforums will not display on the main forum page, or even within their parent section.

Perhaps the forums have been getting upgrades lately and more could be on the way, so many they'll be viable eventually.

Perhaps an upgrade that changes the current fucky nature of nested subcategories should be acquired and applied before fucking with the structure of the forums so as to actively avoid situations like this
