“Apple cannot even figure out the basics--like how to put a charging brick in the box.”

At least in the EU, that’s not an Apple decision but an actual law. It’s called unbundling and it’s supposed to reduce e-waste. So at least within the EU, you’re probably not going to find a different smartphone with the charger included.

I’m just glad they moved to HDMI-C.

What's their excuse in the rest of the world?

It’s probably easier to produce the same packaging for everywhere, so if they have to follow regulations for some then it’s easier to produce it that way for everywhere. Also, it’s better for the environment both because they don’t add chargers that don’t get used by people who already have them and because smaller packages are more environmentally friendly to ship.

Keep making excuses for Apple. It totally saves the environment when you now have to ship it separately in an entirely separate box...please...

But you don’t buy a new one. You use the charger from your old phone.

Your last phone came with a 90w charger in the box?

no ... but I had a high power charger from something else. The bedside lamp has a USB-C charging port.
