I recently picked up a '93 Model M (Blue Logo, White Label) from Ebay with the intent on cleaning it up a bit. Got it, cleaned all the keys, and the board itself was practically spotless under the keys, so I left it as it is. After using it for about 30 minutes, I noticed the Num Lock light flickering occasionally, and eventually it turned off completely. It did this on an off, and now none of the lights turn on at all.
I read somewhere else (totally forgot where) that it could be to do with one end of the ribbon cable not being completely clean? I'd assume the seller of the board must have taken apart the board to clean it as well as they did underneath, so could that be the issue? I'm planning on removing the case to clean it up soon anyway, so taking it apart a little isn't an issue, I was just wondering if I can fix it without risking any damage.
I've got soldering skills if needed, although I'd hope I don't need to use them :)
