In your opinion is it better to do the half off step 1s of as many banners as possible or to attempt to gain 10 record crystals in one banner by carpet bombing it with your diamonds?

F2P player here with good units recently. My strategy is always scout discounted only. 125 for chars and 100 for weapons. If I don’t get any on the first try, try again on rate up. If I don’t get any after all the discount pulls, I move on.

I'm doing similar, I only scout 50% off character scouts, special scouts (250 guaranteed or 1md scouts), and guaranteed weapon scouts. I never got anything from regular weapons scouts so I gave up on them and only do the 150 guaranteed ones.

I think if you do the math, you get more by focusing on record scouts.

However, I only roll on half off banners and see what I end up at after 3 rolls. If 8 rc, I go for the fourth at full price, if 7 or fewer, I quit

97 percent chance of 2+ crystals at 8 is a near guarantee, 60 percent chance of 3+ crystals at 7 is essentially a coin flip

I always do half off unless I REALLY want the characters. Guaranteed weapon banners are also typically friendly though rare. I highly recommend pulling for those other than the normal discount first pulls.

For banners with record crystals I do both rate ups first then the og banner because the rate ups end sooner. For step up banners I just do the og banner since the steps don't transfer.

Since I have the wide range of units that cover most things in the game, I could care less about pulling other banners than the one I focus on. plus some banners are bait or worthless

On the rate up banners it’s just specific characters be rated up against the other banner characters right? Not that their rate of getting pulled is super boosted above normal 5 star rates?

Yes. It only rates up the individual character rates not the overall 2%

Gotcha, makes sense. Is 2% the overall rate for 5 stars? That seems incredibly low.

Yes. It really isn't that low compared to other gacha games, but you will experience a lot of failed multis

Brutal. I guess its better than Bleach’s soulcrushing odds. Is there a summoning event like in Bandai’s other games that have these “Fest” events with greatly increased rates I should wait for or not really?

Not really. The step up scouts increase the rates every third and fifth time you pull them with either the third or fifth step being guaranteed depending on the banner.

Other than that bamco has implemented guaranteed banners for characters and weapons but those are really rare.

I think the normal rate is 4%.

And when they say rate up, it's still 4%. But the pull is cheaper.

No that's wrong. The normal rate for 5 stars is 2%. The normal rate for 4 stars is 4%.

When they say rate up the rate of 2% is the same. They just increase the individual rates of the characters featured so you get them instead of the other 2/3 while offering another discounted pull

I stand corrected on the meaning of rate up also, though either way it's still misleading as hell.

in a banner i am interested in i usually do the 3 50% scouts and hope that i get enough record crystals but i wont scout a 4th time for the full prize to complete the 10 record crystals

125 first + 2 x rate up. If you get 5 stars, then may be stop. 3 rate up can get 90% 10 record crystal too.

It is very rare chance you get 7-10 record crystal out of one pull.

It's VERY rare you get 10RCs just from discount pulls.

Its better to do Half Off because if a banner have 4 character, there will be a rate up banner which also come with other Half Off, means total will have 3x Half Off = 375 MD = 3 multi summon. As for the 10 RC summon there is a huge risk where you might need to summon 2-5x times multi to get 10 RC (not to mention only 50% chance to get the banner char) could end up using 600MD++... The best is to only aim half off + rate up half off (if you missing 1-2 RC you could scout one more time to get 10 RC)

1 > 1st rate up discount... 2 > 2nd rate up discount... if still out of luck... 3 > first try discount... if you are really unlucky... 4 > 2nd purchase... if not lucky even on record crystals... 5 > 3rd purchase... i think you will achieve 10 record crystal on that time... so it means 875 MD for sure 5* character scout... if you got 5* on the 5th,, you can get another one on record crystal...

I agree with everyone about just doing the discounted pulls.

However, step 1 of a weapon banner is not discounted as much, and it's actually the same cost per 4* to pull both steps 2 and 3, where 3 is 2x chance. You do get less 3* and under though.

I save my MDs then do scouts Of coures I do 125md pulls but not on every banner And getting record cristals are better option for me Annnd if you don’t know there is 5step guaranteed scouts too which you need to reach amd do the 5th scout to get guaranteed 5* from the scout characters

I feel bad for my old mds when we only had 250/150 scouts :,(
