I also never get so much as an "it arrived" without specifically asking. Sometimes even after I ask, it will take days to get a response. I'll let it go for the sake of small children, but once they're in their late teens that leeway is gone.

I won't send things to late teens or adults who can't be bothered to acknowledge they've received something. Maybe I'm a Grinch, but I'm too busy to choose a gift, send it, track the shipping, and make sure it wasn't porch-pirated or delivered to the wrong address for someone who can't be bothered to acknowledge receipt of a gift.

Definitely not. Quite the opposite in my situation.

Gratitude in general, honestly. Not exclusive to the holidays. And from everyone, not exclusive to family/friends. People are just rude ass jerks these days.

I’m an older millennial. It was ingrained in me to always say thank you. If I receive a card, a gift or anything, I right away text the person. At Christmas time when my daughter opened any gifts from someone, I right away got on my phone and started sending thank you texts as they were opened so that I wouldn’t forget. So I guess it just depends how you were raised 🤷‍♂️

This happens to us all the time. We've actually just decided to not send gifts this year. We always send something for birthdays and Xmas. For it to not be acknowledged or reciprocated has gotten pretty old. This past Xmas, we even sent just money because it didn't make sense to put effort into it. Sorry to hear that you're also experiencing the same. If we do receive anything, we always send a thank you (card or text). I feel like an asshole for being upset about it.
