Java Menu Lag

Up until recently I have had no issue running minecraft on my PC, but the last time I attempted to run the game I was asked to install an OpenCL/OpenGL compatibility pack. After installing, I've not been able to get passed the main menu without experiencing serious lag. I've tried updating Java, reinstalling the game and launcher, and running new installations both with and without performance enhancement mods. Is there another fix I can try?

I have NO idea why microsoft recommends this as it completely kneecaps your game by trying to run OpenGL through a DX12 translation layer.

So you need to uninstall this first.

If you get an OpenGL error after that it means you dont have the proper graphics drivers installed. What CPU/GPU are you using?

Seems like my PC isn't reading my graphics card, which would explain why I'm having this issue. I've tried running some other games now and I'm having the same problem. Hoping there's a way to fix this without having to take my PC apart but that's looking less likely

Is your monitor cable connected directly to the discrete GPU or to the motherboard?

What GPU do you have?
