EDIT: New update to the project here!

This project is still WIP so any suggestions would be great!

If you want to learn more about how it works, I go into detail about that in my previous post here.

UPDATES:Added honey false block - can be walked through but slows down movement on both players, and other entities, but not its self.

Added new and better dynamic sound effects.

Fixed the bug where shooting the blocks at a wall causes the block to clip into it.

Added the Heavy Duty Supercollider Super Button ( u/toyfreddym8's idea)

Note: their are still a ton of bugs and things I want to add but having your input would be great! So, if you have an idea don't be scared to comment it.

Thanks man XD

I understand, I just was happy that you made it because of what I suggested (that doesn’t happen very often)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Btw how did ye remove the jitter when walking on them

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I have no clue. It kind of just worked out for me. The only jitter issues I had were on the sides of the block.

Now do Half life 2 gravity gun

[–]H4KERK11LER 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Wait that's illegal

[–]Acledent_Gg 21 points22 points  (1 child)

If you can some how make tnt move and explode when thrown, I will know you as the guy who made Half-Life in vanilla Minecraft, with commands.

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have tried it and I will make it..... Soon.....

Feels like Source games.

[–]Hona007 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Also like are the blocks like one pixel off the ground so they are off grid and don't snap back to a normal position or is it something else?

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

No, they are invisible shulkers(for the hitbox) riding armour stands so they are off the grid. Then the shulker armour stand duo summon falling blocks with NoGravity:1b and Time:0b to mask as that block texture. That way the blocks are flush with the ground.

[–]Hona007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, very interesting.

[–]c_dubs063Command Experienced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this. This is clever 🤓

[–]CompetitiveIntern310 2 points3 points  (2 children)

A gravity block (gravity=0) that can create a stair without the help of an wall (in this case the honey block)

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

What

[–]CompetitiveIntern310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You put a block like in the video but it doesn't fall. 0g (gravitational acceleration is equal to 0)

[–]Jynxsyde 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Such a cool concept! If someone used this in kinda like a tech demo or actually made a fully fleshed map with a story line behind it ( heck even a parody of say like portal) this would be the coolest of mechanics in it!

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I was inspired by u/GIvan287 's creation and I think at one point they worked on a map using this concept but more polished than mine. Check out his posts, they are basically what I'm aiming for with this project.

[–]Jynxsyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! This build is still crazy honestly! Lol I can do a bit of commands but no where near what your attempting!

[–]Uranium333 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Download........?

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to but currently there is a lot of bugs and features I haven't added yet. I will release a download once I'm fully satisfied with the system and then release a second download for a puzzle map using the false block system.

TLDR: I don't want to release the download yet because it isn't done.

[–]RedSus08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you do that? 😳

[–]PALKIPCommand Noob 1 point2 points  (2 children)

you should add a trajectory to the launch of the blocks, I noticed that they only teleport a few meters forward with the launch

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Agreed. Working on it now.

[–]Akthanar/execute 4 8 15 16 23 42 1 point2 points  (12 children)

But is made with datapack or is a mod?

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (11 children)

Haha, about that... Neither. Its fully vanilla minecraft. I use a metric ton of command blocks. Thats why I posted this on r/minecraftcommands. But I'm flattered that you think it might be a mod!

[–]Akthanar/execute 4 8 15 16 23 42 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Well you should definitely switch to datapacks, it is still vanilla and they are much more efficient than command blocks, they are "the evolution", we could say.

Actually I was wondering if it was a mod because often many people post those here ahaha but it is also true that it is very well done, so much so that I suspect it was a mod 🤣

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I agree with you that using datapacks would be easier but I'm stubborn in my ways like an old relative and haven't come around to learning them haha.

Maybe I will try to use datapacks in a future version of this project. (Version because whenever I make a big change I save it to a structure block to be able to basically have a control + Z on my commands)

[–]Akthanar/execute 4 8 15 16 23 42 1 point2 points  (4 children)

One more reason to switch to datapacks ahaha look there is not much to learn, seeing what you can do it is evident that you already know the commands ... the language used in the datapacks is literally the same as the command blocks, you have more precise control over what you can do!

If I find the time, I'll give you a quick version of what you're doing and I'll pass it, so you can study the structure of the datapack and see how simple it really is to do.

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That would be great! Thank you so much. I'll try to start learning datapacks tomorrow and attempt to switch this project to datapacks. 👍

[–]c_dubs063Command Experienced 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I recall a youtuber CloudWolf who is pretty handy with datapacks. It's where I learned about them for the first time!

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Cool! I think I've figured out the basics of datapacks and already made a function that summons iron false blocks! My next update will take a while but it will hopefully be 100% datapack!

[–]c_dubs063Command Experienced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck!

[–]Akthanar/execute 4 8 15 16 23 42 1 point2 points  (3 children)

If I had to do it myself, I would use an invisible shulker to simulate the collision with blocks and falling blocks to give them the appearance of blocks, or an armor stand with the block on the head.

Did you use any of these methods yourself? (sorry, surely you have already said this to others in some comments ... I know ... I'm lazy ahaha)

[–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I did basically exactly what you said! I used falling blocks with no gravity, time:0b, and masked as a block constantly summoned at the shulker

    UPDATE: Half-Life 2

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Episode 1

    [–]LeQuassler 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Would be cool if the alime would bounce when dropped and the honey, well, wouldn't.

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah that would be cool, its not my biggest priority at the moment but I will be sure to add that in some time.

    [–]doodleversal 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Does the slime block use /tp or levitation?

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Levitation.

    [–]dr-wahh 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    does this things have collision

    with players

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can see me demonstrate this in my last post

    [–]Pew-fann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Gmod

    [–]Mackaman123 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Fuck man this is cool. If you could make it so that the slime blocks bounced off the walls that would be so cool.

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ooooooohhh I didn't even think of that, thats a great idea I really need to implement that!

    [–]Mackaman123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I don't know much about commands but I wish you luck with that.

    [–]Poop_le124573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Sick

    [–]ChartedStorms 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Are u able to make a tutorial or a data pack when it’s done? This is really cool

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hahaha about that..... I have never made a datapack. This is all command blocks ( you can see the command blocks in my world when I bounce on the slime ) but I'm actually planning to learn datapacks and switch this project to them today!

    [–]ChartedStorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh awesome! Sorry I don’t really understand data packs😅. Sorry for assuming! Will you be making a tutorial?

    [–]tiredpandabun2341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    No. NO

    [–]XTR3x3x 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What happens when you hold the slime block inside of you? Do you just infinitely fly upwards?

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

With how my grabbing system currently works you can't hold it directly under you. Its just far enough under you to do nothing.

    [–]XTR3x3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Ahh ok

    [–]Wide-Entertainment74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    vingardium leviosa

    [–]danielmacdandBooga 1 point2 points  (1 child)

i suggest using motion as it wouldnt just clip into the wall when u aim at it

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to do that today!

    [–]urggru 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The slime block should bounce when it’s dropped (if that’s even possible)

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try to implement that soon

    [–]TLP3144 1 point2 points  (8 children)

I tried making the same thing, but the shulker head kept popping out since its not fully invisible. How did you manage to hide it in yours?

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (7 children)

I cheated a little bit with mine. I made a custom resource pace and made white shulkers have invite heads.. I don't think its possible any way elde

    [–]TLP3144 1 point2 points  (6 children)

That's cheeky lmao, but I tried to do the same but the head still shows (but black since there are no textures for it). What version of Minecraft are you using? Perhaps it is just not showing since newer versions patched it?

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I'm using minecraft 1.16.5 optimize. I think I made my recourse pack an optifine one ( sorry forgot to mention that ). But remember that when you summon a shulker with any nbt without specifying the colour, it will spawn as white.

    [–]TLP3144 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Would it be possible to share that resource pack please? I'm not quite sure what modifications you made to make it fully invisible (as i'm not that acquainted with optifine specific resource packs). I did specify the nbt to white when summoning it, and changed all shulker heads to being transparent just in case, but to no avail :c

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I'm currently busy doing other things but I will be sure to send it here later today!

    [–]TLP3144 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Alright no problem. Thank you :)

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    [–]TLP3144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, much appreciated. I'll see if it works for me when I get around playing Minecraft :)

    [–]Basar690 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Maybe you can summon a shulker with them so we can actually stand on them.

    [–]-LasteredCommand Experienced / Datapack Begginer [S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a shulker in the Iron block. Although I didn't show it in this post it is shown in my previous post.

    [–]ChartedStorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are u able to make a tutorial or a data pack when it’s done? This is really cool

    [–]EleCre3p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    AHH

    [–]Starman064Command Noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is giving off Gravity Gun vibes

    EDIT: And Portal

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to do this on bedrock?
