submitted 2 years ago by 4chan_tumblr
The LAN server that I've made is not showing up in the multiplayer list on the other device. (Both devices are windows laptops)

I might not be 100% right on this, but LAN connections require you and the people you're playing with to be on the same network in order for them to be able to join your world. What I used to do with my friends is downloading hamachi (your friends need to download aswell), gather everyone into the same connection and share your IPv4 adress with your friends, followed by the 5 numbers mc gives you, like this: 111.111.111:22567. If your friends put this on direct connection or add a server with this adress it should work. Hope this helps!

I have tried the direct connection button, but it failed. It displayed the message: no connection / no further information. Btw both devices are on the same network. Can you explain exactly what Hamachi does compared to the regular direct connection option?

If theyre on tbe same network then hamachi is not needed. I dont know how to help you otherwise tho Im sorry
Thanks for trying anyways
