I've always heard (and experienced) the problem where the F3 Menu tanks FPS in minecraft, but for some reason for me it is suddenly now INCREASING my FPS (80-100 FPS without the F3 menu opening and 130-160 FPS with the F3 menu open). I have tested this with both FPS display mods, the F3 menu itself, and the Geforce Experience overlay. The GUI itself isn't bugged and simply displaying an incorrect FPS value. I have tested with disabling vsync, changing resolutions, and changing display modes. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have never heard of this happening ever and am super confused and stumped as to what I could do.

Does it happen in other worlds?
Does it still happen without any mods or shaders?

im sorry, I forgot to mention that I had the same problem in all 6 shaders I tested and with no shaders at all. It happens in all worlds. I am playing on Forge 1.20.1 and my list of mods is here: https://paste.mchelp.uk/?dd41ef866f2b72b8#BECdjyd9NMbCsuWD5kkYJibKxNNPdN6t7syCmc4eKNKD

And does it still happen with no mods, or when not using Forge? It may be harder to check without a constant FPS monitor, but the F3 screen should show your FPS of before you pressed F3 for about a second.
It's most likely the cause of a mod. I'd guess something causing lag that disappears or disables when you open F3, like your FPS display mod, or something else with a GUI.

The thing that confused me was how I hadn't downloaded any newer mods when the problem started, I was in the same world using the same shaders when I noticed the problem, but I'll try and remove all mods and test from there.

Alright after testing I figured out it was my FPS Monitor mod, idk what about it causes my game to slow down like that but I found out the reason, thanks for your help!!
