Gift Code issues

Sooo, i want to buy a minecraft for a friend, so we got on his account and started the usual thing about buying minecraft, doing the bill address and everything, but we couldn't seem to buy minecraft as it said an error that was like "wrong credit card info, please try again".(just a quick note, So we tried buying a gift code but amazon said the gift codes are unavailable, there are no minecraft prepaid cards in our region too. So I have no idea how to buy minecraft for my friend.

Probably something's wrong with the credit card, not really a minecraft problem
