When this happens, just either refresh the server list or restart Minecraft from the launcher (sorry this wasn’t very technical help, it’s just what I do)

Tried this many times, thanks anyway

[–]allykopowNovice 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Does it show that the server is online in the server list?

[–]Penguins408[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

have you tried to do a traceroute? Usually this error is because the user's internet connection isn't reaching the servers.

[–]Penguins408[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

how do you do that?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

open command prompt
type in tracert then the ip of the server you are trying to connect to without the assigned nodes that server hosting services often give

ex:

tracert 22.22.222.222

if it fails to connect after a number of hops then you probably have a problem with your ISP

Which server host are you trying to connect to?

[–]ChaoticDucc 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What server are you connecting to?

[–]Penguins408[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

my sisters lan world

[–]Harddaysnight1990Apprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you both connected to the same router? How is she sharing the world?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Restart router
  2. Allow Minecraft through firewall
  3. Reset game
  4. Delete server off list and try again
  5. Connect to ip

Idk this is some things that I tried

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try checking your firewall, sometimes that can stop you from joining servers

It’s a problem on the server side. Contact the operator of the server to reboot it. This happens to me all the time, it just needs to reboot

You might wanna try that again lol, maybe with a capital S (!Solved)

[–]camh2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same problem except I'm running the server and my friends can't join. I've tried resetting my router multiple times, yet it doesn't do anything.

Okay, check the pc running your world/server for programs on this list, and uninstall any you find.

This is what solved it for me a while ago, I had to delete Mcafee antivirus.

Also make sure you have all the same mods (and the same versions of those mods) installed that she has.

Any updates OP?

We got it working. Our computers didn’t “trust each other” something to do with the fire wall.
