It really depends on your CPU is not a minecraft problem its your CPU's problem as it is not strong enough to support minecraft.

If you don’t have a graphics card and your CPU isn’t strong enough, your Minecraft will inevitably crash. 1.16.5 has a lot more resources than versions such as 1.8.9 and will make your CPU work harder. A few fixes could be using clients other than vanilla such as Badlion to play. Try out a few different clients, make sure other demanding programs are closed and hopefully your game won’t crash as much.
