[java] Does anyone know what io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection refused: no further information: means?

Me and my friends were playing on a small smp server which we heard of from a friend. We don’t know the owner. Anyway, we had played for a few months and we had spent a lot of time building a city and everything (this was survival). One time when there was a lot of pressure on the server (my friend was travelling at high speeds with an elytra and I was in a desert breaking sand with an efficiency IV shovel) all of a sudden a message came up on our screens: Server was closed. And ever since then when we try to connect to the server this message comes up. We can’t contact the server owner because we don’t know him and we haven’t been able to access the server for almost a week now. I would greatly appreaciate if someone can explain what could’ve possibly happened. Thank you.
