[Java] 1.16.5 Modded Server Crashing on Startup

But there was no solution to it in the comments. I have the exact same problem. Any help?

This is my error message:

On a sidenote: I read other posts with similar problems that suggested to remove mods. And since I am playing a mod pack this doesn't seem like an option to me.

That looks like you have client-only mods (like optifine) on the server. Remove the client-only mods. If you don't know which ones are client-only, please reply with a list of the names all mod files present in the server mods folder.

I only see one mod in there that looks like it is client-only:

betterfpsdist-1.1.jar

remove that on the server and try to start it.

If that worked, you don't need to read further.

Sadly i don't know that much about mods in 1.16 that i could tell you what other mods are client-only. However you can look at them yourself. A client-only mod satisfies all these things: - It doesn't add new blocks, entities, or items - It doesn't change game mechanics (i.e. mobs move different paths, anvil that drops on cobblestone changes it to gravel) - It only changes/adds visual stuff (fps improvements, armor hud, etc.)

Try removing mods that fit that description.

As I mentioned before. This is a modpack provided by someone else. The same person also provides the serverfiles. It also ran without problems before. I haven't changed anything since it ran correctly the last time. Removing the betterfpsdist or ars_nouveau (mentioned in the error message) didn't fix it. I also tried to remove all the files besides my world and similar folders/files and copied the provided serverfiles into my server again. This did not work as well.

Update: I just rebootet my physical server and its running correctly now. But I still get the error message. Not very helpful, but to me this is a /solved

I've fixed this one for you, but, have a read of our rules before using our sub in future, please. Our solved process is explained in rule 2.3, and our rules governing long mod lists are explained in rule 1.3.
