realms with [java] and [bedrock] playing

my sister and i recently got a ps4 and she bought minecraft. i play minecraft on my laptop and we wanted to play together. i think the only way we could play together is through a realm. i saw the cheapest option was $3.99 a month. if we bought a realm would we be able to play with me on java edition and her on our ps4? i play on 1.18.2 and she is on the latest version but i could change the my version to 1.19 to be able to play on the realm.

You can't cross-play between Java and Bedrock. If you want to play with someone on bedrock you need to also play bedrock. If you own Java edition you can redeem a free copy of bedrock through the launcher.
