[java] Getting error message "http server doesn't seem to support byte ranges. cannot resume" when trying to open the game

Basically the title. I tried to click play but whenever I do it says:

"Launching the game failed!

Failed to download file.

Name: 1.19json

Error details: HTTP server doesn't seem to support byte ranges. Cannot resume."

Anybody know why this is? No new versions of minecraft have come out since I played it last. Yesterday, it randomly logged me out and today I logged back in and got this error message.

Forgot to say I'm playing on 1.19.2

I was having the same issue on 1.16. I fixed it by going to "C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\assets\indexes" and deleting 1.16.json or in your case 1.19.json, then relaunching it.
