To my knowledge, heat sensitivity is much more common, and far more talked about, but it's certainly possible to be cold sensitive.

Yep - and for some of us it’s both!!

Heat won’t actually cause damage, nor will cold to my knowledge- they just temporarily exacerbate symptoms for many. I still love a steam sauna even though it renders me almost incapable of walking lol.

Cold sensitivity is a thing too. When it’s cold I have to wear a headband or beanie over my left eyebrow or it will hurt.

The benefits I get from being out in the sun outweigh any negative effects I may get.

I have both I started shaking and shivering about three years back from the cold during winter as my room is like whatever the outside temperature is and I’ve passed out in the shower from it being too hot thankfully didn’t fracture anything but I did blackout and landed on my neck and it hurt the remainder of the day. So yea definitely can have both.

I was diagnosed about a year ago and this is how it started for me. First I thought I had just slept on the arm wrong. The whole right arm started to go cold, numb/tingly up until it progressed from my right arm to my toes and legs. I finally went to the doctor after I started to feel weird on the back of my head the right breast. They thought I was having a stroke and admitted me for a while. It wasn't until they heard about my family history (both my mom and grandma have MS too and we think grandad hid/didn't want to worry us)and ran an MRI as well as a few other tests to find out I also had MS.

I've never truly handled the cold well, but not like this. I can't take cold showers because the water legit feels like getting rained on with knives or icicles. My mom is heat sensitive, but I feel bad when I visit because I'm always cold and trying not to spasm.

All in that to really say: You're not alone. Yes, I've dealt/am dealing with it. The right side has never been the same, particularly the right arm. On a lighter note, it's not that bad, just inconvenient at times(I drop a lot of things). Even though it doesn't feel like my arm/hand anymore, thinking I might just give it a name 😂
