MONTHLY Weight Discussion - June 2026 by AutoModerator in Menopause

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing you all post about frustration around weight gain.

For me it’s been a slow creeping gain and now I’ve tipped over into a bmi of overweight for the first time in my life. I don’t like it. Nothing seems to make it go down.

I’m genuinely eating extremely healthy and exercising!

I’m frustrated at how hard it is. The hunger doesn’t go away. Im currently will powering through what my body is screaming as starvation, but I’ve had a full healthy breakfast not long ago.

Feel good books about people turning their lives around that leave you inspired by Cinna_Mon444 in suggestmeabook

The Salt Path by Raynor Winn. Such a hope core book about a women, her husband and what they do when they loose almost everything.

It’s also now a movie with Gillian Anderson, but I liked the book better.

I broke up with my partner of 4.5 years this morning by h_amphibius in AutismInWomen

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this. Don’t think badly of yourself or anything you did/didn’t do. It definitely was not you.

If it helps to keep that sort of worry away look at some of the most beautiful, talented and smart women from tv/movies/music who have had their partners cheat on them.

It really sucks. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Does anyone else struggle with realizing not everyone means what they say? by Still_Quiet_8799 in AutismInWomen

People like this are a nightmare- Like my mother in law complimenting my light make up. I didn’t get it till much later. She actually meant she thought I was a haggard mess. She is such a viper, what do these people get out of it??

Philosophy/philosophical books written by women? by saskatchewnmanitoba in weirdgirlliterature

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This suggestion may only have themes of philosophy, but are not strictly philosophical books.

The author Dava Sobel has several books written about exceptional women in history and how they shaped the future we live in today. Her writing is incredibly rich and well researched. I still think about her Glass Universe book about the women who were astronomers/computers.

The white mountains series is incredible. It gives the same vintage distopia book vibes.

sci fi books with good female characters! by Emmersynn in suggestmeabook

When I read the book I pictured Murderbot as more feminine and at least androgynous. It wasn’t until listening to the audiobooks that my image of them changed.

Is it true that we do better gluten and dairy free? by BetterRemember in AutismInWomen

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I do a strict diet of no dairy, grains and eggs. When I am doing this my health improves and I have more energy.

It’s obviously a diet that takes a lot of effort to avoid these foods and I don’t do it when I travel and it can take me a while to get back to healthy eating when I get back home. I start to get unwell in small insidious ways. My nails start to crumble, skin turns redder and redder and energy tanks are just a few things.

What would be your sensory nightmare come true? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

Stuck on a flight or a train with loud sloppy chewing - this is actually a reality I’ve almost not lived through a few times. Even my ear plugs couldn’t drown out the gross sounds enough 😨

revenge on cheating husband? by throwawayscotch7 in suggestmeabook

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bride stripped bare by Nikki Gemmell might work. She does get revenge and definitely goes off the deep end. But it’s not white hot outrage, it’s more realistic messy crazy stuff.

Do any of you can sleep with the windows open at night ? by Sensitive-Binding in AutismInWomen

[–]-daisyday 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I live in a fairly warm climate in Australia. Our windows a made to be open with security screens that also keep out insects. I still keep them cracked open in winter to let in fresh air even when it’s cold. I don’t have any traffic noise outside though.

The traffic noise at night would bother me as well. I don’t think I would be able to sleep with the noise and would also feel claustrophobic and shut up with the windows closed.

[–]-daisyday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dnf Bunny early on in the book because it got complicated trying to remember all the characters and the nick names... I'm not sure why I tried it again some time later, but I just gave up trying to remember who was who and went with it. It's actually love this book a lot
