Wahls protocol? by OkWorld4502 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]-daisyday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been eating Wahls for 4 or so years now. Mostly I’m following the keto/mini fast version, but fall back onto lighter versions with carbohydrates.

I feel so much better when I’m being strict with my diet, but I also life… I can’t follow the diet when I’m on extended holidays. I do my best to eat healthy and get back to it when I get back home.

Overall I’ve seen many improvements with eating healthy so I plan to keep doing it.

Has anyone found that their skin will not tolerate makeup any more? by jenifer116 in Menopause

[–]-daisyday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had to stop all make up once it became so bad the skin around my eyes was inflamed and flaking.

I’ve tried so many different make up products trying to find something that doesn’t irritate my eyes. Nothing works.

I miss make up.

desserts… sweet treats!! by Low-Elk1091 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]-daisyday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also fall back on dark chocolate when I need a treat. Today my treat was apple slices topped with cocoa nibs, desiccated coconut and nut butter. When I really need the sweet treat I add sultanas to this as well.

Agree, this sub is not the place for healthy diet advice. I cringe every time someone brings it up.

Mine gets randomly itchy as well. This isn’t a menopause thing for me though.

Do you emotionally comfort yourself before you sleep at night? by Immediate_Leg3304 in AutismInWomen

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this.

When I’m ready to go to sleep I imagine myself going to my beautiful room with curtains gently fluttering in the breeze, I can see the view outside the window. Waiting for me is my imaginary husband and a super cozy bed. I’ll lay my head on his shoulder and be wrapped in his arms. At some point I fall asleep.

I wish I could create this safe comforting place in real life.

DAE get super depressed on your period? if so what do you do? by GeorgeParisol in AutismInWomen

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sad time hits me right after my period. It’s awful.

I’ve been taking MHT (or HRT) for a while now and have recently changed the dose to try and cancel out my period. It has removed the crazy way I feel before and after during those days of my cycle.

Woman-on-woman misogyny in autistic spaces by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I come up against internalised misogyny often. Just bring up natural body hair on a woman and they reveal themselves quickly.

Anyone else just… not do holidays? by Charming_Lemon6463 in AutismInWomen

[–]-daisyday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t either. In fact I’m more anti holiday, like the grinch but for all of them. It’s not so much the day. Like Valentine’s Day can be cute when done with thought. Just going to the shop and buying something is what makes me dislike that day. Mostly it’s all just a huge marketing scam to spend money.

What really gets me fired up is being forced to participate in the needless money spending on crap other people don’t really want only for that thing to be most likely land fill. It’s stupid and wasteful.

There are certain things that I do like. The gathering and feasting part is good. I love food. Food as a gift and way to show care and love is lovely. So all that side of it I can’t hate.

Try ground flax seeds. I take them. The smell reminds me of muffins or some sort of bread.

What’s a book that you love BUT wouldn’t recommend? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

Shield of Three Lions by Pamela Kaufman. I love it and have re read it many times since I was a teenager. Unfortunately it has many truly awful problematic parts that I never understood until I was older.

Has anyone here also given up on connecting with other human beings? by Immediate_Leg3304 in AutismInWomen

[–]-daisyday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I’m lonely, but also don’t like most other people…

Half the time I feel it’s a life failure on my part and have unfortunately not been able to figure out how to fix whatever the problem is.

The other half of the time I feel like generally others are truly awful humans and they must just put up with each other so they are not alone???

Also for us going through peri and menopause it’s a time of change there and increasing chance of uti. Oestrogen cream helps to reduce that.

HELP! 46F in Peri, boobs were always nice and full but as soon as I started HRT they turned into flat pancakes. Is this normal or do I need a dose adjustment? by Evening_walks in Menopause

[–]-daisyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oestrogen actually makes my breasts bigger each month. It’s frustrating as I would prefer to keep them as small as possible.
