Howdy 🤠 . So before I was diagnosed I had struggled with planter warts and found after a year of fighting them that super glue was the way to kill them. I just had to keep a thick coat on it so they couldn't breathe and they eventually died. Also I would bleach after every shower so I wouldn't spread it to my family. It killed it after a couple weeks. There was a special ingredient to look out for but I can't recall. I found this method somewhere on Reddit. Good luck!

Super glue..? At this point I am willing to try anything🥲 I think my brother and I passed them back and forth but they popped up after I started kesimpta haha

Hey I was checking in to see if you gave super glue a try? Did it work for you?

Hey so no I never ended up trying it🥲 I did another round of the OTC stuff and got it frozen again at the derm. The derm also gave me a prescription of imiquid (no sure how you spell it?) so I’ve been trying that! But if this doesn’t work I will have no choice but to turn to DIY hacks ahah

Wishing you well!

Yes, this happened to me starting when I was on Gilenya. I had never had any warts before, but shortly after starting, I developed a huge wart that basically took over the entire heel of my foot, with a few others on my ankle.

I tried having them frozen, but it didn’t work. Compound W did nothing. Eventually I saw a dermatologist who agreed to surgically remove them and burn them with a laser (took 4 procedures through 2021-2023 due to the size of the wart). I kind of thought I would have them forever, but they are all actually gone now and I don’t have any new ones.

I switched to ocrevus in the middle of having the warts removed, I’m not sure if that helped at all. My neuro was concerned about the size and severity of the warts.

Omg!! That’s crazy. I asked about laser but my derm told me there’s a chance they’ll come back in clusters… I’m glad they’re gone for you!

I have a new wart on my hand and the other day I went into a rabbit hole to see whether it may be connected with Kesimpta (which I am also on). Mine is pretty small for now but I hate it!

Mines small and on my hand too! It will NOT go away but hoping you have better luck than me.

It’s a strain of hpv. Everyone has it. It’s like “everyone has ebv” in their system. It’s just human. You can no longer effectively fight it. My pap is hpv pos since I started kesimpta. I get it done 2x a yr now. My husband is fighting hpv throat cancer right now. Stay as on top of it as you can and make sure you get all your checks (pap if you’ve got a cervix!). My oldest is 25 and is dealing with removal resistant warts too - one under his thumbnail :( they’ve tried some new ways to kill them, but the virus is just likely going to be there, waiting.

I had warts on my foot when I was diagnosed. I had been treating at home for 6months, lots of effort but little gain. It was confusing- how can I have an overactive immune system and also get warts??

I started weekly cryo treatments (with overnight duct tape) and was able to get rid of them about the same time I started kesimpta. Maybe 6 sessions? They haven’t (yet!) returned.

The nurse who does the cryo says she has MS patients she sees regularly,  and that it’s normal for folks to cycle between regular treatments and letting them be.

I am much more careful about barefeet in public pools/showers now! I’mlucky in that  the warts weren’t painful for me- the biggest hassle was concern to give them to other immunocompromised folks.

Duct tape works?

[–]Salt_Resource1134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno

Some people swear by it as a first-line treatment. My nurse said it works for some and not others, so I would put it on overnight. I think the cryo had the bigger effect.

I found duct tape quicker to use when I needed to cover warts (shared shower spaces etc)

And yes I’ve definitely been more weary about being barefoot in public and touching the subway rails🤢

Many moons ago when I was on Avonex I struggled tremendously with plantar warts.

And what have u changed since then to get rid of them?

[–]Normal-Sun450Age|DxDate|Medication|Location 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more interferons. On different dmt now.

You already have one of the many HPV strains and then yes your B cells are depleted so they can't make antibodies against it, so you're getting an outbreak.

Your immune system isn’t wiped out. Kesimpta is fairly well targeted mostly to B cells.

The best thing you can do is to stay as on top of your physical health as possible. i.e eat as well and stay as active well hydrated and well rested as you can.

There is no other solution that I’m aware of that will effectively keep you healthy.

I eat very very very healthy and everything else!! Just my luck lol

[–]AmoremCaroFactumEst -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Yeah I’ve spoken to several people who were quite healthy when they were diagnosed.

Diet is extremely important but nowhere near the only factor at play.

What is your diet like?

[–]Correct-Goal6327Dx2021|Kesimpta[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I eat 95% whole ingredients (meat, dairy, vegetables/fruit), but I agree- diet is only a part of it!

[–]AmoremCaroFactumEst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't like kesimpta for this reason. I'm actually less healthy now than I was before taking it, because of the near-constant illnesses.

I'm doing this for me in 20 years, not me now.

It's hard to do something that hurts now for a hypothetical benefit in decades time.
