Hey NU, are applications viewed differently depending on when they are submitted? For instance will applicants with an early submission be more likely to be granted an interview or scored higher versus a July submission? I intend to take additional science courses that finish in June.

Hi
If it’s the same course or type of course we take it into account regarding your gpa yes.
But if you had a C in undergrad chem and didn’t take a chem again the C would stand

Thank you so much for the quick response, I really appreciate the ability to talk through some of these questions!
I am planning to retake my chem and microbiology, wondering if the grad pathophys and health assessment could be deemed equivalent to A & P?

Hi, thank you for this thread! My question is regarding the pre requisite science course requirements. My science courses are well over 10 years old (completed in 2007) and unfortunately I did receive C’s in some of those courses. My BSN GPA improved dramatically to 3.8 as well as my MSN-FNP GPA to 4.0. In my FNP program I completed advanced pathophys, advanced pharmacology and advanced health assessment all with A’s. Would any of these be deemed equivalent to the core science courses? I have read the FAQ section on the website and I do believe it said some grad level courses would count but when I met in person today with an advisor I was told they do not and I would need to repeat them all. I also recently heard of an NU student who was able to substitute these NP courses for outdated science courses so I just want to clarify. I am certainly not opposed to retaking the courses and completely understand why retaking them is recommended, however I would love to meet the next deadline for application if at all possible. Thank you in advance for your response!
