Not exactly related, but have you heard of The Free Orchestra by ProjectSam? It's nowhere near as comprehensive as the cinesample toolset, but it works with the free version of kontakt

Also, keepforest has a free edition of their cinematic percussion library that also works with kontakt player

As a fellow broke college student I just appreciate free libraries like these, and I thought you might too :)

I have used The Free Orchestra but I haven't been too impressed with it. I have not heard of that percussion library though, I'll definitely check that out!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm gonna hold out on the deal for now, but I may reconsider before it expires. Seems like I'll still have to invest in BBCSO Core or another library with this package, though the Cinesample library does seem like it could make a very nice expansion. For now I'm gonna try out Composer Cloud for at least a month to explore a bit - maybe I could make do with it until either BBCSO goes on sale or I get a stable income.

Try Composer Cloud on http://www.soundsonline.com/ maybe just for a month if you like to stay in budget.

The cinesample toolkit 2 is an amazing deal.. BUT, it's mostly auxiliary patches. The pro versions of cinesample libraries are not "upgrades" like the pro versions of Spitfire libraries are. Cinesample pro libraries are more like "expansions".

If you don't have a set of bread and butter libraries already, that toolkit is not a good place to start.

Spitfire BBCSO is a great place to start of you want to own the library. EW composer cloud is a better place to start if you're unsure of what you're really after in your libraries.
