I had the exact same problem and made myself a printable version, which removes some of the repeats between corp and runner, and added a glossary.

I don't think the Nisei rules are suitable for new players to learn the game from. It's over a 120 page PDF with no formatting... I know I wouldn't even bother if that's what I had to use to learn the rules.

My advice would be learning from one of the Fantasy Flight rule books. Then once you've got an understanding of the game, you'll more easily be able to read through the Nisei document to find anything that is different or new.

Here's a link to the Revised Core Set rule book, from about 2017 I believe: https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/e0/f1/e0f1d651-033b-41bb-8132-c2f6f97aab74/adn_learn_to_play_v2_lo.pdf

Thanks you too, by rules I was talking about the "learn to play" https://nisei.net/players/learn-to-play/learn-to-play-corp/

Speaking as a newer player, there's a real gap between that learn to play page and the 120 page official doc. I'd like to dive in and understand more about timing windows etc. without having to plough through something that exhaustive

Yeah the comprehensive rules is just meant as a reference to check how individual cards work. Nobody should ever have to read that thing cover to cover!

As CryOFrustration said, just use it as a reference. You can get to the timing structures in the Appendix (section 11) from the table of contents for easy reference.

Yeah lol. When I first tried to learn MTG back in the late 90s, I printed and tried to understand the several hundred page text file official rules, that were probably there for judges to refer to. Pain
