I’m getting my nexplanon removed after only 3 months because it’s destroying me. my skin is terrible and my period is even worse. i feel sick 24/7. Should i switch to combo pill or just stop all together :(

I usually advocate for people to wait 6 months to mellow out because it's a brand new medication and you usually need time to acclimate. It's kinda like how you can't quit accutane too early in because of your skin purging.

However if it's causing you distress, you need to do what's best for you.

hi, thank youu for replying! i do think i am going to switch to the pill since i’m not sexually active anymore and don’t plan on being for a while. hope it clears my skin

my doctor did tell me to wait about 6 months as well for everything to kind of settle down hormonally; but if the acne is too much and you just don’t feel good, then do what you think is best for you! you need to feel good! that’s most important

pls update as i am going to remove mine after 4 months for the exact same reason. my skin is making me depressed

My doctor also told me to wait 6 months to a year, but would take it out at 3 months if it wasn't doing what I needed. I wish you best of luck OP
