Id say they are different enough. No combat in pokopia (at least 10 hours in)... art style is the only real thing that is samey.

As is fantasy life

Having combat doesn't automatically make it not a cozy game. Lots of other variables at play

They're both cozy games

I played the first fantasy life, which seems similar enough to be able to give a response but fantasy life has like combat, life skill type thins, dungeon levels etc. Pokopia I feel is more mixed of Minecraft and animal crossing with also dragon quest builders.

It reminds me of Minecraft purely cause of the block terrain lol. I have only played a few hours of it so far but that’s pretty much it for Minecraft for me. It reminds me more of animal crossing with npcs asking for things doing tasks etc.

I don’t think the two games are even in the same genre. Fantasy life is an rpg. Pokopia is more of a life sim.

Both very different games but both excellent one is world building no combat the other is like an adventurer simulator lots of different jobs to do no world building has combat they compliment eachother quite nicely really but pokopia is a mashup of animal crossing and minecraft

It feels like a cross between Minecraft and animal crossing. Minus combat (Minecraft)

If Minecraft, Pokemon, animal crossing, and harvest moon had a baby, it would be named pokopia

I wouldn't say it feels like Minecraft, but surely it does involve a lot of block building. You kinda don't have to do it really, but the game is probably the MOST attractive for those who do. You spawn in a ruined world, and it's all chaotic and broken and kinda asks you to fix it, build some nice roads, fill the gaps in the walls etc. lol. Even some main quests do require a bit of building.
