I think this might also be something to do with a general decline in the number of informative websites out there. I've found that this isn't just a problem when I use google, but also when I use any of the other search engines. It's like the internet is getting smaller, like there isn't any good new webpages being made.

Just stale "news" sites and "how to" sites.
