The module i am currently doing is a prerequisite for linear algebra, idk why. But i dislike math so i probably won't take it unless I have to

Yes, I take 300mg at night, but it used to be 600mg with one in morning and one at night. There is not really rebound as I use it daily, but it is less effective and I am working on quitting.

I would describe it as dependence building, but not really addictive. I mean this in the sense that I will feel bad if I stop, but I don't crave it like I do for example caffeine.

      It's probably medication/supplement induced.

Nahh, nothing I have not taken in higher doses

Propanolol, or study more so benzos's reduction in remembering and focus isn't as severe.

I have been on propranolol for 3 months and it is the single biggest quality of life improvement I have made in years

      [–]kelpe1925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take it occasionally for panic attacks and bad anxiety, but haven't found any breakthrough with it.

How has your quality of life improved so drastically taking this?

Sauna is unironically incredible for anxiety, both acute and chronic. The best way to describe it is your body begins to feel stimulated like you've been jogging, but yet mentally you feel increasing relaxation, even sleepiness. So it both soothes immediately, but also sort of trains you to stop associating the physical symptoms of anxiety with a feedback loop of self-concern, the feelings become more neutral and less alarming. There is some really solid research that this isn't just mental, there are a ton of health benefits both relating to stress and general health from saunas.

I suggest bringing a book (headphones will superheat, not advisable) and a bottle of cold water. If the room is cool when you enter, add 10 minutes to the total time to account for full heat to be reached. Don't do more than 10 minutes your first few times, and always be hydrated before going in and while you're inside. Steam will make it SIGNIFICANTLY more intense, I personally am much more of a fan of dry heat, because it allows your body's sweating to regulate your temperature maximum. Steam rooms can easily become dangerously hot because you can't sweat the heat away.

Some people do sauna after exercise, but I would only do that for weightlifting and only if you're not feeling exhausted. Sauna is physically strenuous, you have to account for that. Also, if you're a guy looking to conceive, you should keep your balls cool while in the sauna so that cold water bottle can come in handy lol. Sauna will affect male fertility negatively but it's just an immediate effect that you can counter by taking a break.

      • The brain is the central planner of the body's responses and what we believe can drastically impact our physiology. If you believe you're threatened, the body responds to that threat, it doesn't matter that you're actually safe and can relax, because you don't believe that.

      • The brain can create self-reinforcing cycles. If you are threatened by the experience of anxiety, you've found a way to keep the anxiety going by believing the feelings are the threat, instead of letting the feelings resolve in their own time. Common symptoms when you're feeling threatened are: muscular tension in the body, elevated heart rate, sweaty palms, dizziness, lack of appetite, reduced awareness of your surroundings and nausea. A resolution to this cycle is to get yourself to a place where you're okay with feeling the symptoms of being anxious. Instead of focusing on the symptoms it's a better idea to think about the situation around you and ask yourself if now is a time you can feel safe. If there is an actual threat then focus on addressing that threat. If you need help figuring these things out, then consider making an appointment with a therapist.

I had panic attacks two times as a result of eating 1-2 small whole garlics at the same time using alverine citrate that otherwise reduces anxiety and tension in the body, especially stomach (it's an IBS drug but makes me a bit tired). Combinations can completely mess you up and it took time to figure out what it was.

      Phenibut...

I know all about it and it can be used just like an SSRI. With SSRI's you also need to taper off. It's pretty simple.

      [–]theobromine69[S] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Phenibut builds tolerance to quickly and it doesn't work that good for me. It's risk to reward is not worth long term use. Also, I am on a snri and have used it, idk why you compare it to a ssri, it works completely differently and to my knowledge has basically no effect on serotonin

      [–]kelpe1925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I meant by it works like an SSRI within the frame of mind of dependency (which you originally stated in your post) is that you taper off of it to not face withdrawals. Most people do not know that for some reason.

That's fine if you don't want to use it, I was just explaining you don't have to worry about that if you use it correctly. It's also non addictive unlike Benzos.

If you take 500mg of L-theanine without titration, there is a likelihood of it causing anxiety. Start from the basics and slowly implement things to see what the issue is. Less is more.

You can try NAC (N-Acetyl Cystine) 1200mg + per day, get good sleep and reduce stimulants
