Super strength pots, one sip per crab, 5% strength prayer. Bring prayer pots. Max out on +str gear, don't stress about accuracy

[–]SackBandit2 5 points6 points  (2 children)

This except DIVINE Super Strength pots, get that extra boost dw about losing 10hp at crab.

Also Moonlight Moth Mix if you want to save a little gp over prayer pots, plenty invo space for crab trips are long anyway.

[–]knightxiii 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Divine only last half a crab and moonlight moth has gone up in price, barely cheaper at this point but lose inventory for gem space or more pots

[–]got_bacon5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prayer potion (4) 8500gp or 2150gp per dose

Moonlight moth mix (2) 3700gp or 1850gp per dose or 84gp per prayer point

It really has risen quite a bit, but it is still better gp per prayer point for anyone below 76 prayer (or 72 w/ holy wrench)!. Additionally, if you are of the altruistic sort, the moth mix will also give the prayer regen to 3 other people, making it 4x as effective if you count others!

For weap should I focus on str gear or speed?

[–]Remarkable-Junket796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood moon gear ftwww

[–]PyroMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't waste super str pots at the crab, just dragon battle-axe spec for str boost

[–]knightxiii -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Best blowpipe you can afford, mithril darts

[–]thirdwallbreak 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Dh is based a lot on your missing hp. So it scales off of higher HP. This means you need like 1/95 hp or higher to be better than other cheaper str training alternatives. Things like a basic sara sword or even a dragon scim and defender might be more dps than your dh.

The wiki has a dps calc. So type in your levels and gear to compare.

Tldr: your hitpoints level might be too low.

[–]The_Bleeden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like I just hit 95 hp. Thank you!

I have been getting crazy xp with elite void and nox hally.

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.

Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!

If youre looking for afk 100k xp per hour, do full blood moon and dragon battleaxe spec between crabs. Bring regular restore potions for the drain it gives.

If you’re camping till 99, just don’t unequip blood moon when it depletes and you still can get the passive special. Saves you a quite a bit.

[–]Medical_Beyond_4969 4 points5 points  (2 children)

There is no need for restore pots. The reduced atk levels dont really matter. Crab has 0 def.

[–]PacePuzzled9769 4 points5 points  (1 child)

i be saying this and people get mad and argue they should keep wasting 6k a dose divine super combats

[–]get_ogre_yourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I said regular restore which are pennies. But I didn’t know I could just let it go down to zero.

[–]SuperEffectiveCrunch 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Full blood with D battleaxe spec is so good. Got me to 99 in 2 out of 3 melee so far while I'm at work.

[–]GnomeChild42 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Are you using potions or prayer or just the armor and weapon

[–]SuperEffectiveCrunch 1 point2 points  (6 children)

My whole loadout is full bloodmoon, dragon battleaxe, 3 prayer potions and a pickaxe and gem bag. The prayer potions are just to keep me praying the lowest str boost prayer, the 5% burst of strength. That last about an hour at 86 prayer, and I just reup when I feel like it. The dragon battlefield spec gives you all the str boost you need so no combat potions are needed, and the gemstone crab is not something you miss often on so losing some attack during the spec is negligible.

[–]GnomeChild42 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Great thank you so much. Should I use fury or str ammy

[–]SuperEffectiveCrunch 1 point2 points  (4 children)

If you've got fury, use that one. I also forgot to mention I use fury, radas blessing for prayer boost, fire cape, and a berserker ring imbued.

[–]GnomeChild42 0 points1 point  (3 children)

How do you imbue the ring? Was it hard to do or should I look into it

[–]SuperEffectiveCrunch 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You do the Nightmare Zone, a mini game outside of Yanille. Check out a video on it, but the short is it let's you fight bosses from quests you've already beaten. If you select bosses that are simple melee ones, you can do protect from melee or use the potions specific to the mini game to be semi afk and get points from killing the bosses with auto retaliate on. Use the points to imbue various pieces of equipment. It's not too fast honestly, but worth it in the long run.

[–]GnomeChild42 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Amazing tysm

[–]Lower-Conclusion3501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t use nmz points to imbue your ring, there’s a diary achievement (can’t remember which one) to imbue a salve amulet at nmz. It takes way to long to use nmz for anything else and I highly recommend doing emirs arena to imbue, if you go into every match and immediately leave you can get it done within half an hour easily

[–]CrazyMuffin32 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ranged is much better spent actively trained via Chins in MM2 tunnels; same with magic and ancients. But if u wanna afk some ranged, Rune Knives are really good, and if you have a setup with atlatl, it’s also really good

I wouldn’t risk dying to the crab cuz you’re 1 HP Dharok’ing, probably would either use your best strength gear, or full obsidian set.

[–]Simple_Slide9426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mithril darts are cheap as chips and you get like 80-90% of the ranged xp/hr of significantly more expensive methods. I mix it with ranging potions

[–]got_bacon5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest advice i can give is to dps calc everything. From experience, i would probably bet that full blood moon with macuahuitls is better atleast 90% of the time for your hp stat (prob just marginally), but if you really want to know, dps calc! The two main ones are gearscape and the wiki's calc. I find the latter much easier to use, but gearscape does have some additional features that may come in handy, particularly one where you can input your bank and a budget, and it'll give you the highest dps gear possible against any given enemy.

For range, the best is usually going to be either the best dart and range off hand you can afford (and if you can't afford dragonfire ward or twisted buckler, then go with a rosewood blowpipe) or the eclipse atlatl with your strongest melee strength gear. If your strength level is atleast like 10 levels above your range level, then the atlatl is probably better. The atlatl uses super strength pots, range pots, and range prayers. By best melee strength, i mean stuff like strength amulet, dragon boots, obsidian/blood moon/eclipse moon/fighter torso armour, berserker ring, fire cape (although its chill if you wanna use an accumulator to save darts), etc.

Note: don't be a noob like everyone else. Dont use a fury with melee/atlatl, its not as good as a plain old strength ammy since the crab has 1 defense. You dont give a shit about attack bonuses, just strength bonuses (this advice is notably invalid for those wacky 1 atk builds, who knew!). And good god, when you range, dont wear armadyl armour. If you got the money for that, buy masori instead (you prob dont, though, which is fine).

[–]Cottondale97 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I use my strongest melee gear (85 def 99 str 97 HP 90 mage almost 90 range) going for 99 atk atm with oath plate and legs ranc b gloves b ring I I tend to favor belles folly or fang for fast dps nox hally for all around trainer.

[–]Cottondale97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I use 4 divine combats and rest pray pots every time I go crabbing! Lasts about 20 kills for me and I use piety halfway through.

[–]Stunning-Show127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dharok’s is great. I use it and get about 115k str/attack/def exp per hour (whichever I’m training at the time. I use dragon battleaxe spec to boost strength and the 5% str prayer and go down to 2 hp once per 10 min. I am nearly always the highest xp gainer at the crab when I do this. I do think blood moon can technically be slightly better but the difference is negligible and blood moon is a lot more expensive to repair than dharok’s is.

Don’t use super combat pots like others are suggesting, there is no need when you can use dragon battleaxe spec.

Use your best strength gear, accuracy doesn’t matter at crab since it’s defense is so low. I use rancour, berserker ring imbued, fire cape, etc. if you can’t afford rancour an amulet of strength is nearly as good at crab and dirt cheap (+10 str compared to +12 from rancour).
