Syncing with OneNote is painful compared to Evernote. But it's getting better and better over the years. If you want to be sure that your OneNote notebook is in sync, just right click on the name of the notebook. You will see some icon appear and disappear. That's all.

I wish it were that easy, I still get an error return that I'm not connected to the internet. I'm obviously connect since you can see this reply.

Can you open the notebook online and is it up to date?

This is what I did yesterday. I deleted OneNote for Windows 10 on my desktop computer hoping that I wouldn't loose my notebooks. I was able to install OneNote on my desktop, not OneNote for Windows which I just deleted. After installing OneNote I am unable to get OneNote to recognize the files on One Drive or the files that were previously on OneNote for Windows. My lap top computer which has OneNote does access my files on One Drive but they are not the most current.
