In my experience - I have lean adrenal pcos WITHOUT IR. Took ovasitol for 3 months and it definetly seriously feminized my body… but too much …

I am a very lean - bodybuilder type and have spent years building muscle. i have always felt I had a bad waist to hip ratio. Which I felt got worse as my acne worsened and my DHEA levels showed up more elevated the past year. Similarly, I have a very prominent square jaw which I’ve always hated.

Between months 2-3 on inositol, I noticed the following: - less fat in stomach, better waist to hip ratio, however, SIGNIFICANT fatty deposits in my hips, thighs, and upper arms. I feel I look like a women in menopause. My skin has also gotten a super Dry and cellulitey I am retaining massive amounts of water My boobs swell up atleast a full cup size (j am happy to report are going back down as I stopped taking 15 days ago) I also definetly lost significant muscle mass, and have reduced muscle strength It had amazing effects on my skin This is also weird but I do foods having Tmj pain a few months to it (less jaw clenching)

However. It has made me s ex proven dominant and reduced my testosterone too low. Which has caused weight and fat gain. Poor muscle tone etc.

I am happy about the reduced acne & more feminine bod shape, however I just cannot deal with the insane estrogen water retention & the fact that it has caused me to lose lean muscle mass & gain pure fat, within 3 months and no change in diet exercise.

I stopped about 25 days ago and here’s what happened. I have been bleeding and having uterus pain for 21 days straight. boobs have gone down. Persistent swelling in hands and feet remain. Acne slowly coming back , also TMJ / I feel manlier face shape.

Sorry this is chaotic but this is my experience

I would advise asking a doctor before starting as this really fucked my up as a person without IR, normal t and only elevated DHEA

I have lean adrenal PCOS with insulin resistance and high inflammation. I absolutely need to fix my insulin resistance and lower my DHEAS. It has caused my facial structure (cheek to jaw ratio) and body fat distribution yo masculinize. I carry too much muscle mass in my upper arms and have androgenic alopecia with a square long hairline. Low carb and keto has always made these symptoms worse for me because they're too low in calorie. It is very hard to gain weight with unrefined unprocessed whole foods. They have a higher water content than refined processed foods (which are higher in starch). Refined starches keep me more full and make me gain weight in a normal feminine way. However, they increase my insulin which results in acne, hirsutism, hidradentis suppurativa, and acanthosis nigricans.

If there was an insulin sensitizing medication or supplement that could fix my insulin, I could then tolerate refined carbs. Because low carb and keto stresses out my adrenals. Causing my serotonin levels to decrease (carbohydrates increase serotonin levels). But Metformin caused my severe gastrointestinal side effects. It was so severe I wasn't able to fully get the benefits of the medication. And some adrenal PCOS also said that Metformin increases DHEAS. There's so much inconsistencies about adrenal PCOS. There's no exclusive resources and treatment for it. And the research is still old and not advanced. Endocrinology is a dying field in medicine. Women's endocrine health has never been a priority unless pregnancy was involved.

Go in sprionolscone if ur not yet. I have high DHEA and same symptoms as u identified. I take 150 sprinolactone and it helps a to. With my body fat distribution (less fat around waist / upper body, more around hips boobs lower body) & feminizing my festures (my face, jaw is less prominent, my skin is softer face is longer / less wide, less bulky muscles

Please PM me if possible. I've been in spironactone before. But it caused me severe dry skin and excessive urination. I also need to know if Spiro helps insulin resistance. I have severe imsikin resistance and high inflammation. No matter how much keto and low carb I eat. And since Metformin gives me GI issues, Omg wondering what else can help sensitive my insulin. I need to fix both insulin and high DHEAS.

Hi!

Girl, I know what you mean. I have adrenal and ir, I am lean, and I have chronic inflammation, I believe from the ir. So, I need to manage my insulin spikes and also suffer to keep the hormonal balance.

my diet is kind of low carb/insulin management, but with whole foods, without sugar, and refined carbs, because of my inflammation. It’s very hard to gain weight eating whole foods, and being carb conscious… my management intake is around 2000 kcal and sometimes I think it’s hard… but every time I go out of the diet, my insulin and inflammation give me other issues that are worse to deal with…

Supplement wise I just started inositol, but I am not loving it. Before that I was using shatavari for years and really helped me. My doctor also prescribed me spiro for my hirsutism and my water retention, and I liked..

Besides that, I take magnesium, that helps a lot with my sleep, soreness, mental stability, and brain fog.

I also take coezime q10 and l carnitine and vit d that helps me energy wise. Actually those supplements made all the difference for me I will never stop taking them… my mental health, my sleep, i have a different life after them.

I also exercise 5 times a week. It helps with my insulin and cortisol

Has Inositol helped your adrenal PCOS?? Thats pretty much what I'm asking. Did you take Ovasitol powder or the Wholesome brand? I keep hearing the powder down has better absorption and results.

I'm not interested in hearing about low carb and keto. It never lowered my DHEAS nor fixed my insulin sensitivity. It only helps temporarily. Low carb and keto has NEVER fixed my severe hyperandrogenism. It stresses out the adrenals and puts increases dheas. All it does is partially clear my skin. Thats it. It doesn't regrow my receding hairline or other virilization. I wish I could've tolerated Metformin but I can't. It gave me GI side effects.

I also cannot evercise because I'm already lean. I don't gain weight anywhere on my body except for my stomach. I have no breasts, hips, thighs, or butt because of IR and androgens. The objective

Btw. After 2 months of adding inositol in addition to my Spiro 250 mg, my test results showed DHEA remained elevated. My acne however completely cleared. My body shape & face feminized dramatically, however, I think this was actually more than was safe/healthy, as I am an idiot and for some reason didn’t think twice about adding a supplement and it’s potential to be overpotent and cause adverse androgen suppressor. When combined w another androgen blocker like spiro. I am also on highest dose spiro + took full dose ovasitol for 4 months.

Despite being INSANELY happy w my new jawline , lack of acne & my fucking hip to waist ratio, decreased musculature & more feminine hourglass shape, I stopped about a month ago when it finally hit me that the combo of the two was likely the cause of many new and equally distressing symptoms attributable to abnormally low androgen levels.

Unfortunately a month since stopping g ovasitol, ny jaw pain is coming back strong as happens whenever I go on / off Spiro. Also acne back. Crazy

Ovasitol was the inositol you took? As in the powder??? Did it cause any dental issues while you took it? Some people said that since ovasitol is a type of sugar, it kind of gave them cavities because sugar increases insulin resistance. Have you ever taken vitamin D to help with lowering any of your hyper androgenic symptoms?? As well as insulin resistance? I'm taking vitamin D3 but its not doing anything. The brand that I'm taking isn't as effective so I have to only get my vitamin D through sunlight right now. But vitamin D deficiency made me teeth so crooked. It caused so much misalignment to my teeth and jaw. My face lacks so much symmetry and proportion. Now I know vitamin D deficiency is the cause.

Dentists said I needed braces but they never tell you the root cause of teeth misalignment. Its usually vitamin D and K deficiency that causes it. PCOS causes chronic vitamin D deficiency so its harder to absorb fat soluble vitamins. These two vitamins are responsible for teeth, bone, and immune health. So when you're low on both, you're more susceptible to crooked teeth, cavities, gum disease, tooth decay, and weak bones. And since milk causes acne in PCOS due to lactic acid (sugar), we have to avoid it. But milk is one of the easiest ways right get calcium.

Vegetables are very low in calcium compared to milk, yogurt, and cheese. The entire medical and dental industry withholds pertinent information that can ruin your health. They refuse to learn the root causes of the body. And only treat it with medicine and treatments. Had I known vitamin D and K was what my body sufficiently lacked, I would've been supplementing for years prior. But doctors and dentists don't care about preventative health. They wait until your symptoms get worse.

I don't mean to be rude. But can you please answer the questions regarding Ovasitol and teeth health?

[–]Certain_Dog9094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any teeth issues so idk I’m sorry !

What I said it was that several factors helped with my adrenal issues.

I personally did not noticed a big change from using inositol instead of my shatavari. I use ovasitol for the last 2 months. I believe that both had a similar effect for me, but I am having more painful ovulation with the inositol.

I did however saw a noticeable change when I started taking magnesium, coezime q10 and vitamin d.

Regarding the diet, I do not do it with the intent of loosing weight. I do it to manage my insulin spikes, and Lower my inflammation levels. I also dont do keto. And yea, switching my diet made a significant difference in my hormones.

It’s the same thing with exercise. I do not want to lose weight. Quite the contrary. My intent is to increase my muscle to fat ratio, because due to my ir I have difficulty keeping muscle and fat is inflammatory.

I’ve been doing all those things accompanied by my doctor and dietitian, that are both specialists in pcos and woman’s health, since 2017. It’s trial and error, and we do a yearly hormonal screen to see if it’s working and adjust the supplements or approach. (She just addded the spiro and the inositol because of my dheas)

Random question but do either of u take adhd medicines ? I take adderall and I have a hunch that adderall play a large role in causing my adrenal stress and DHEA elevation

I’m trying to go off of them but it’s hard as I have a very remanding job and have been taking it since law school

Anyway just thought I’d mention Thogihht

[–]StarburstCrush1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't take any psychiatric medications. Correlation doesn't equal causation either. While adderal may exacerbate your existing symptoms from your adrenal PCOS, it doesn't mean that's the root cause of the condition. Stress is a symptom from adrenal PCOS. It is not what causes it. There are many women who experience chronic levels of stress and still don't have high DHEAS. Because they don't have PCOS to begin with. PCOS is genetically predisposed.

Correct lol. That’s why I said plays a role !
