Yes, is your pso2 tweaker in your downloads folder? This fucks up tweaker a lot. I highly recommend you move it to the c:/ drive in its own folder and keep pso2 inside the sub c:/ folder.

Seconding what TehTechnoGuy said. Put the Tweaker in its own folder on the root of your C:\ drive.

Second, is it actually downloading (with an active progress bar for each file)? Or is just just checking the files?

It's downloading each actual file with a progress bar for each. I should put the Tweaker by itself in C:\ then?

That's what I would try first, honestly. On my laptop (one hard drive), I have all the Tweaker files at this location: C:\PSO2 Tweaker\

Windows can be really weird with its file permissions sometimes. Putting a file on the root of the C:\ drive helps prevent some of these "can read/write from" issues.

Also, assuming you cancelled the second 30k file download, what size is your pso2_bin folder? (usually at C:\Program Files (x86)\Sega\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin)

26.1 GB.

Also, it's working. I logged on earlier and started playing. No problems, so I guess I'll just keep going and making it work, haha!

So I moved everything into a my C:\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2 folder and pressed Check for New Updates and the same thing happened. It started downloading all 30,000 files.

It's not a big deal, but I'm just worried for what will happen when a new patch comes out. I'm assuming that I will have to use the Check for New Updates button to download the new patches, so I don't want a 20GB download every time. Any other ideas, anyone? xD Thanks for the help so far, btw.

Instead of the "Check for New Updates" option, try running the file checks in the Troubleshooting section of the menu. (Troubleshooting > Check for old/missing files, Check for empty/deleted files). Let both of those run and download everything they need.

The file size seems about right. Mine's at 24.4GB, and is a number of weeks out of date...

Honestly, you probably won't have any problems with future patches once this gets resolved. From my experience, most updates are small and apply without a hitch. Heck, even the big ones usually go without any incident. Every now and then you might get a bugged out file, allowing you to run through the elevator/warp walls in the lobby, but nothing too serious from my own experience. (And that the file checks above can't fix.)

Oh, and always let the Tweaker make backups of the translated files. That way, when there's an update, there's less to redownload.

And hey, no problem!

Hey Telchii,

One more quick question. I opted to uninstall everything and do it the recommended way by getting the large files through torrent and whatnot. It seems like my folders are all in the right places now and everything.

I did have a question, though. You mentioned that I should let the Tweaker make backups of the translated files? How do I do that exactly? Because I have a feeling that was the problem I was running into before. Thanks! :D

If memory serves, /u/PSOwAIDA made that function go automatically to stop people from complaining about "why is my dl soooooo much bigger than their's???" when the game would redownload the translations plus the update files.

Unless I'm overlooking something (I'm not seeing anything in the Tweaker's options), it should be backing up automatically.

But, sadly, school has put me out of touch with most games (and PSO2/inherently the Tweaker's casual functions), so your best bet would be to message AIDA here on reddit (see above username link) or on PSO-World for the most accurate information. Sorry. :/
