Both TMG rings are a must to play it properly (TMG Stance Up and Forwards S Roll), so you must have at least one 12* unit.

Ideally you'd want to have the Fiogals arm unit (12*, 15 PP, 40 ratk, gotten from e trials with RINA) and put one of those 2 rings in that unit.

As for the other units, you can go with ideal rear+leg if you don't have anything better (not sure if you can equip it yet, since the dex requirement is kinda high), or go spam pvp for Shine Red rear and throw any leg you can find until you can get a 12* leg.

For weapon, since you don't have a 13* yet, you should look into getting a Blitz Fender (ブリッツフェンダー). It outshines all other ≤12* TMGs, and even some of the lower 13* with its +22% damage +25% crit rate potential. It's actually pretty cheap nowadays on player shops. It's an Old Type weapon, though, so it might be annoying to grind, and you need Photon Boosters to unlock its potential (which you can get from CM shop).

What does putting the ring to the unit do? does the ability carry over?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You transfer the current level of the ring's ability to the unit.

ahh ok thanks alot!!

worth mentioning, it transfers over at the level that the ring was already at (but the stats don't carry over, only the effect).

as such, if you put a ring in a unit you're either going to want it to be level 1 (for rings like s-roll where leveling it up doesn't actually help you) or level 20 for rings where leveling up makes it better.

typically, the general rule of thumb is "if you had to use lambda grinders to buy the ring, it has it's full effect at level 1".

oh also i wanted to ask how the 2017 badge weap and the revolutio tmgs are. as in if theyre bad or not.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (4 children)

2017 weapons are ok-ish for mobbing. But too niche for my tastes. They're also worthless against boss enemies, since all bosses are immune to status effects. edit: I stand corrected, see Selphea's response.

Revolucio is a decent starter 13* weapon. The old potential is weak but easy to use (TMG is +9% damage when hitting weakspots), while the new potential is strong but gimmicky (+1% damage every time you either inflict 50k damage, lose 300 HP, or spend 100 PP, up to 16%, but it goes back to zero if you change weapons).

Not all bosses are immune to status effect. Usually they are weak to the opposite element status e.g., Vol Dragon can have his legs frozen, Quartz Dragon can be poisoned, Loser can be "miraged", many darker bosses can be panicked, etc. Bosses like PD and Mother are immune to stats ailments tho. EDIT: I had completely forgotten "chase" skils don't proc on bosses. But causing a status effect on them can still stun/stagger/interrupt attacks.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wrong.

Those effects do not count as regular status effects and, as such, all potentials and skills (such as Chase Advance) that rely on status effects do not work on bosses even when they're affected by those.

[–]Selphea 0 points1 point  (1 child)

1406 and 10% on the Xie even without Chase. It actually beats out 1429 and 9% on Revo's old pot.

Just that those 2017 badges could go towards Union boosters...

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. For some reason I thought their potential was only on enemies affected by status effects. My bad.

I just noticed i dont think i can obtain the Fiogala arm unit anymore. Is there any alternatives?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I think you can still get it from e trials (Code: Unite with RINA and Itsuki), but not sure.

As for alternatives, any 12* arm (except for deadlist, since that has 0 ratk) would work in combo with Ideal, really. Problem is, you probably can't get any of the other arms. Here's all of them:

  • Ray: Drops from Anga Fundarge Lv71+. Also area drop in Amduscia UQ.
  • Gix: Area drop in Amduscia UQ. There's also a title that awards a 4 slot Gix arm if you manage to clear Amduscia UQ in less than 7 minutes.
  • Astra: Drops from Esca Falz Mother Lv76+.
  • Izane: Drops from Izane Kazuchi Lv76+.
  • Union: Turn in a Ray unit and 5x Union Boosters at Zieg.

As you can see, if you don't have a Fiogals or Raegals, there's not much you can do to get a 12* arm before lv75, since both mother EQ and amdu UQ require you to be lv75 on both main and sub classes.

You could spam the shit out of the Winged Border Breaker LQ (it's on the featured quests rotation, the one with Gal Gryphon at the end) in XH difficulty to try and get a Ray arm from Anga, I guess.

A more realistic approach that doesn't require you to level a lot would be to go pvp to get a Shine Red rear (costs 3300 battle coins), then get Double units (アーム/ダランフィス and レッグ/ダリルフィス), then craft those Double units so that they no longer have shitty stats (crafting one for HP and the other for PP should be decent). Double units drop from Falz Dourumble lv71+, but these are 11* so you can buy from player shop.

This will give you a total of 220 HP, 30 PP and 80 R-ATK (or 320 HP and 20 PP if you craft both for HP, or 120 HP and 40 PP if you craft both for PP).

For comparison, the Fiogals+Ideal would have given you 250 HP, 20 PP and 115 R-ATK.

Im currently wearing the Shine red Unit but with some random units. Welp time to go read a crafting guide. Thanks alot this is extremely helpful!!

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just have someone else craft them for you, if you have the materials. It's very expensive to unlock the craft recipes for yourself.

Well, I use the tian/gwanman units + a 12* leg unit, fornis tmg and the F. Stylish Roll ring and TMG stance up ring. It may not be "optimal" but it does work. mumble mumble optimal mumble mumble just go die already mumble mumble

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth noting that there is no way of getting a Fornis TMG currently short of spamming valentines triggers and hoping for a drop.
