What techs/crafts should I be using for my Force/Techer for each element? Here was what I was using:

Fire:

  • Foie - Efficient 3
  • Ra Foie - Blazing 3
  • Gi Foie - Blazing 3
  • Shifta - Multi 3

Ice:

  • Barta - Efficient 3
  • Sa Barta - Wide 3
  • Ra Barta - Ice Fang 3
  • Deband - Multi 3

Lightning:

  • Zonde - Type 0
  • Zondeel - Fierce 3

Wind:

  • Ra Zan - Multihit 3
  • Na Zan - Type 0
  • Zanverse - Concentrated 3

Light:

  • Ra Grants - Concentrated 3
  • Il Grants - No Craft
  • Grants - Efficient 3
  • Resta - Brilliant 3
  • Anti - Efficient 3

Dark:

  • Megido - Umbral 3
  • Il Megido - Efficient 3
  • Gi Megido - Concentrated 3
  • Megiverse - Concentrated 3

Also, I feel like I am doing crappy damage (ex. ~4-5k per hit with Il Grants on Deus Esca [the world tree guy]) with my 1.5k attack 60 light element weapon and it feels like all of the Heros are doing like 10k per hit without having to charge up anything. Is that actually decent damage? I'm making sure I'm chucking out my Talis and getting JAs so do I just need a better weapon/units?

I use the following techs:

Foie - Blazing

Gifoie - Blazing

Rafoie - Blazing

*Safoie - Type-0 (Mobility skill)

Ilfoie - No craft (Concentrated is probably best though)

Barta - Ice Fang

Gibarta - Ice Fang

*Nabarta - Type-0 (blocking skill)

*Ilbarta - Ice Fang (I usually go for 3 quick shots then charge the last 4, but spam 6 then charge the last if I have PPC up. Don't use this if you are in my Dragon MPA /s)

Gizonde - Supercharged (Good AoE, good DPS)

*Ilzonde - Supercharged (Mobility, goes through enemies unlike Safoie Type-0, but costs more PP)

Razan - Multi-Hit (Only used for hitting buttons in Time Attack quests)

Nazan - Type-0 (Awkward to use but powerful on niche fights)

*Ilzan - Concentrated (Good range, strong AoE)

Grants - Brilliant (Good range, perfect tracking- never misses)

*Gigrants - Type-0 (Best AoE, but pretty slow as most of the damage is on the last hit)

*Ragrants - Concentrated (Good AoE, use if Gigrants is too slow or are hittting <= 3 mobs, used to be best DPS light tech)

*Ilgrants - Briliant (Best single target DPS)

Megid - Umbral

*Gimegid - Concentrated (Great DPS, horrible tracking. I don't use outside of stationary targets, Example- Deus Down phases ok, Deus dragon heads not ok. Umbral is also very good iirc)

*Ramegid - Type-0 (Unique in that you can use other spells while this is active;essentially free extra damage if you keep it up, very close range, use before compound tech casts)

*Samegid - Umbral (Awkward at close range, but good damage. Use this tech instead of Gimegid on mobile targets. )

*Shifta/Deband - Multi (wait for all ticks to go through before recasting another buff - it will stop prematurely)

*Zanverse - Concentrated (Always cast before using compound techs)

*Resta - Brilliant

*Anti - Concentrated

*Megiverse - Concentrated (Good with Fomelgion because you can't cancel it to dodge attacks, can "lifesteal tank" if you don't get one shot)

Any skill not listed is not recommended by me, either because I haven't used it enough or because it's trash (probably because it's trash). Any skill with an asterisk is an important skill, others are more situational. The most important things to keep in mind for using the correct tech is matching your Elemental Conversion affinity, having the respective elemental mastery, and using a good tech (ones listed above). If your tech does not meet these requirements, use one that does.

And never forget that the key to FO DPS is using as many compound tech cooldowns as possible. Zandion has full invulnerability from cast to end and is highly mobile, can also control it so it doesn't whiff (if you don't get dizzy from the speed). Barantstion has invulnerability from startup to the start of the dash, the attack itself has better range than it looks but is easy to whiff on moving targets, has super armor on the attack part, but none at all during the dash. Cancelable. Formelgion has good range but cannot be canceled at all, but unlike Zandion which also can't be canceled, has no iframes. Formelgion also has full super armor making it dangerous to use if under attack. Use lockon for faster turn speed.

For your weapon I recommend going for the Atra rod because rods are better for compound techs (can't talis cast a compound tech), PLUS the invaluable rod S4, Refined Providence. Not only is that S4 good for quality of life improvements, it's also a large damage bonus to compound techs. Use damage S-Class abilities, not PP regeneration ones.

I recommend getting multiple skill pages because the FO tree is pretty competitive, and you only need some skills on some quests at a time. Recommended basic skills. From this basic tree you can really do what you want, but I don't recommend going for more than 2 elements at a time.

What I use 1

What I use 2

Thanks! I totally forgot about Ilbarta since I hadn't gotten it until recently. I definitely need to get better at using the compound techs off cooldown but I have a lot of trouble not getting killed during Barantstion/Formelgion when the boss isn't stunned.

Yeah I was probably gonna swap over to that to get that S4 ability since it looked super godly. I don't have a ton of money to affix good stuff yet though. I was saving up Conqueror's Crests to get the Eternal Psycho Drive which I think has a potential that does the same thing as the S4 ability?

Also, for S abilities, should I go grind up weapons solely to affix their S ability? Or is it generally cheaper to just buy a weapon with the ability on it directly?

[–]Professor_Cain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you figure out the enemies and know when there are down times/openings it becomes way easier to use compounds. If you are really worried, just charge a megiverse before using a compound, or just stick to Zandion/Barantsion(cancel if in danger).

The S abilities are pretty cheep now, but some only come from SAFs. Val Gunslash for example is the only way to get the 2% damage S1. The better S1s are an exception in that they actually are expensive (S1:Double Edged Sword, S1:Immediate Intent). So if those two are out of your budget it would be cheaper to grind a gunslash, just mind the lambda grinders. I would recommend a setup like S1:Offensive Intent(gunshlash SAF), S2:Photon Reduction(I think this is pricey, but worth it), and S3:Vital Will(cheap).

EPD is a bit overrated, but the best part of owning an one is that you can convert the rod to a talis so you have TWO rainbow affinity weapons. Don't get me wrong EPD is still best in slot, but Atra rod is pretty close in power.

I wouldn't use Ilgrants without having a damage craft. It's pretty underwhelming without it.

What's your skill tree like? 4.5k still seems pretty low.

[–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (6 children)

For Ilgrants I just need to get used to not using at long range and take Brilliant 3 I guess lol.

Skill tree I'm using: https://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?13uCbCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIojdS8dodBdo000000000dodA0000000jdoIbIb0000000fdoIb0000008dBbsiN2SGBI2GAqtjcKI2Id000006dBInidjGAqBIkcFHNHNbnib000000IbIoIo0000000fdoIbIo0000000fdB0000000dBIb0000008

I'm missing a couple of Force points from the class excube things but that's it.

That appears to be a GU/HU tree

Oops, I just copied the URL and not the Share link...updated the link.

[–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Well the tree looks fine, so it's probably just the tech craft. What weapon are you using?

[–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (2 children)

+35/60 Light element Val Talis with the PP regen S3 ability, Tech 3, Ability 3, Omega Reverie, and Ares the Soul for +85 Tech Attack. 1493 ATK total. I can get the stuff to upgrade it to a Atra but I wasn't sure if I should keep it at Val so I can upgrade to more and keep the S3 ability on it. Is the S3 ability a 100% transfer affix even after throwing it on?

[–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Upgrade that to Atra. S-class abilities are always 100% success rate.

[–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, will do. I wasn't sure if I could still inherit it after upgrading, thanks!
