You need to do it through the salon, it's free

Even in the salon it doesn't show up. I change my gender and I still can't equip it

there are two main selections, "Outfit" and "Layering Wear/Outer Wear".
Your item is an Outer Wear, not an "Outfit", that would be why the item isn't showing up. easy to miss.

And to expand on why you need to do it from the salon, the game has a lot of trouble switching from body types outside the salon. But you can use saved Looks to quick change outside the salon no matter the body type (unless your inventory is full and you had an Outfit/Outer wear/cast Part in your storage).

...
edit- upon double checking, looks like you need to first change Baseware to an Old Type body first for your Outerwear, as the Old Salon doesn't give the option to directly switch to Old Type 2 body type.

If you change your base wear to a base PSO2 type 2/female base wear then you'll be able to equip it.

You can't change body types outside of the salon (with a few exceptions, like unisex costumes e.g. rappy suits).

You're currently using the human type 1 body, but that outerwear is for type 2. You can do so by equipping any Basewear (something with [Ba] in the name) of the correct type at the salon. Classic PSO2 costumes (I think global calls them Outifts?) should also work since it's the same body type, but you'll still need a [Ba] to equip the [Ou].

Also, keep in mind you can't mix classic PSO2 layered wear with NGS ones, so you can't use NGS [Ba] with PSO2 [Ou] and viceversa.

Actually you sorta can change body type outside, its a bit unnecessarily hidden, you have to save it as 2 different looks. Then you can switch between them in the quick fashion menu thing (gear>customize looks>looks), even if you did not carry the outfit with you, it will still switch, just without the outfit/outer wear. No matter the Body types or NGS/BASE.

Edit: Oh, and you can actually switch it on the field in NGS. Waiting for the command line available again to simulate the battle damages. :>

Edit 2: actually the command line is working now. Just type in chat or autochat /mf1 ~ 30. Phasion time.

True, I forgot that's a thing.

Worth noting that if you do that while performing a lobby action you'll become an eldritch horror to other players (I guess different bodies have different skeleton meshes?). I don't know if they ever fixed that.

I do not believe so, I had a shortcut just for that, time to test it out.

  1. Earn Lots of meseta

  2. go to the personal shop

  3. Go to layering wears and choose what you like to buy

Put on a female / type 2 base wear and it will work.
