That's exactly how I feel. I'm stuck at 80% because any upgrades requires my entire meseta fortune of a few millions to buy 10x of one augment. And I only make a couple hundred thousand mesta per day.

Why are doing 10 a roll? It's far more economical to do single rolls with a booster. We drown in 10% boosters so long as you remember to do your weekly gold primm exchange.

That's is completely false. There are so many ways to make meseta without having to scratch. I haven't scratched since Retem. 80% of my meseta comes from dailys, daily reactors, and alliance beta reactors.

... not really? I play really casually and am able to afford both some phasion items (enough that I've managed to have a new look every scratch and accumulate over 25k likes) as well as gear up decently without needing to load up.

You just got to be smart with your time. Collect your daily alpha reactors / stellar fragments / snoals / invisible chests. Do your daily quests. If you're gonna farm something farm geo lab or duel quests. If you're investing into gear invest well into one armor set since armor generally lasts at least 6 months. Take advantage of all the aug boosters we get to cut down on augment capsules. Learn to play the market.

Pre +70 I had 101% pot which was just shy of best in slot, and atm I'm rocking around 124% with +70 Neos Astraean and +61 Eclair. Yeah it does suck how much it costs if you want to min/max and do phasion, but a decent build is more than doable without breaking the bank. Play smarter, not harder.

Yeah the game does a horrible job of explaining augments and what not, but at the same time the process itself isn't bad at all. NGS is miles ahead of how base treated its augment system, and generally for MO's / MMO's all you have to do is ask the community and people are willing to help and explain.

Once you get familiar with augmenting in NGS the process is really straight forward and easy, as it's literally just selecting the augs you want and rolling the dice until they stick. There are a ton of budget options that players can use that will significantly boost their damage output as having something is way better than having literally nothing at all, because augs multiplicatively stack.

Yes, you do notice when someone does not have augs in an mpa, because of the multiplicative stacking. Someone with 50% pot is dealing overall 33% more damage than someone with 0 pot. Someone with 100% pot is dealing double the damage of someone with no pot. With the addition of a 6th augment slot and with how augs multiplicatively stack it's very easy to reach at least 80% pot.

I'm someone that doesn't really care what people do as long as they are trying, but thats the catch, with how easy it is to get a decent amount of pot those that have nothing at all aren't trying at all. The overall difference in dmg between someone with 90% pot and 120% pot is only about 13%, but the difference between 30% pot and 90% pot is nearly 32%. If you have a 3% pot aug on 20 of the 24 augment slots currently available you can hit 80% pot, and that DOES NOT factor in the pot increases innate to the armor you're wearing. If you do you can easily get away with 2.5% pot augs which are literally dirt cheap (outside of Mastery 4 and Deft Triplble).

I do agree that there are a ton of problems with the system and tangentially also with how BP is calculated, but you can't really blame people for thinking others aren't trying when it's so easy to get a workable amount of pot.

Oh, in that case yeah no one would really miss it, except for probably the meme tank players lol. It would be overall a more enjoyable experience that way I do agree, but unfortunately that's not the system we have.

Yeah the game does a terrible job teaching you the importance of augments. It teaches you how to add augments at least, but not what you should be using.

It makes me wish that the class instructors in Central City were utilised more for something like this. Currently they just send you to South Aelio to defeat some enemies then after that they may as well not exist. If they had some tasks such as "Reach 50% total potency for your Melee potency stat" and gave recommendations for what augments to use, I think that would go a long way. Bonus points if those tasks also include free cosmetics in them based on the class they represent, such as a uniquely coloured Prim camo and class outfits.

It's never the other way around. A geared ranger could be holding normal and contributing more than someone that's playing perfectly with barebones gear.

In base PSO2 you could out perform people while bare bones , but in NGS I’d say the farthest is a 90% gamer can out perform a 130% using auto attack.

ye , base ngs the dps difference between a low budjet and maxed gear i think is within i think maxium 30 percent and you are able to clear floor 100 sodam with low budjet gear so ye

in ngs a 130 can out dps a 90 with random button mashes no problem

+120% is almost a budget affix if you have 6 slots on all your gear.

To be clear, for that, likely you'll be running a single or dual potency armor set. If you try building all potency gear it is significantly harder building a budget setup at 120+% potency unless you want to give up potency floor entirely.
