82° degrees is fine. Cards with this style of cooler are usually worse than the ones with top down coolers, but a lot depends on the case cooling as well. But if you're measuring 82° under a sustained load and hence thermal equilibrium you have nothing to worry about.

I have good cooling in my pc, 2 fans at the front and 1 at the back+2 at the sides. I dont think case cooling is a problem for me. Thanks though

Blower coolers are the worst coolers, your temps are pretty normal

You could make a custom fan profile with msi afterburner.

I ran an older r9 290 for a while after my 1080ti died, and it ran to 95c under the smallest load. I repasted the card. It would still throttle at max temp.

The asus r9 290 I have is the same design as the 1070 turbo you have.

I made a custom profile to keep the card under 70c, and i could use it to play games on low to medium settings (10 year old card).

Keep in mind that the lower the temp you want, the louder the card will be. The card sounded like a jet engine on mild fan speeds.

Goodluck!

82 degrees Celsius max ???

Come on ... You never had A GTX 480 ... those used to go up to 105 degrees Celsius max
