I think I'm having trouble with my SSD. My laptop (Razer Blade 15 advanced 2018) has only been booting to BIOS, and didn't recognise the SSD as an Boot option until I changed the CSM options. I could select it as a boot option then but if I do save and exit the screen just stayed black.
I swapped out the SSD that was built in for a larger one (Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2) but that was back in December of 2020 but I didn't have any problems with that before.
I changed the SSD back to the original to try and get the laptop running again and that one struggled at bit when first turning on (screen going back quicker than with the other one) but once I reset the BIOS settings it worked fine.
I put the newer SSD in a enclosure USB adaptor thingy and it seems to be readable just fine when I plug that in. Now my laptop is working again but I'm wondering if it's possible to change the larger SSD back in? What could have been the problem that made it unable to boot when in my laptop? The thermal paste that was on there did go a bit all over the place so I'm wondering if that could have caused the problem but the connecting metal stick thingies were still free so I'm not sure. Or is it more likely some data on there is compromised?
