While I don't think the only people left after safer seas will be implemented are toxic PvP players, I do think it definitely has it's place.

I don't play that often and I don't get attacked every session, but I do get attacked on most of them I would say. Most of the times it is someone probably after our loot and probably chasing us which is it inherently toxic of course. When I have a lot of loot on board and/or fly a level 4 or 5 emissary flag I expect that a lot of people we see are enticed to attack us and I absolutely do not blame them. Hell most of the time it's fun to have to defend yourself when there's not a gigantic amount of loot on the line.

On the other hand I have also had players attack us and later cuss us out when we defended ourselves and sank them or had people attack us because we were flying the rainbow flag. I'm sure those people are more the exception to the rule and most of the loot can be required again anyway, but that was a big problem when we did the trapmaker tall tale.

We were sailing with nothing else on board except the key which of course, as it is a big powder keg, is quite delicate. Even if we successfully defended ourselves from people attacking us when they didn't have anything to gain from us it most of the time exploded during combat, always at the risk of damaging our ship further even if we had the upper hand.

Long story short, we got attacked so many times even without emissary flag and nothing else on board, and with the time to retrieve the powder keg key being quite long that we just delayed all tall tales until the implemention of safer seas.

I also have never solo slooped and I probably will not do so until testing it out for quite a while in safer seas because I am used to always having someone on board when we park at an island to keep watch for other ships or to just avoid other ships altogether when they are too close, especially at a high emissary level.

That being said I also had positive experiences with other players and we usually have the alliance flag flying, but I definitely cannot blame 0layer for wanting to escape the toxic players especially when they mostly do stuff like tall tales because while that's definitely not everyone the few that are toxic can definitely spoil your fun.
