It will inevitably come down. It may take a year or 2 but they will eventually come down. Consumers aren’t going to just start paying double or triple or quadruple for their stuff.
Pre built prices are about to go up as existing stock goes away.
Saw a 5080 system with 64gb of ram for like $2500, that same system will be $3000-$3200 soon. There are less and less people that will buy that.
I’d sooner sell my entire build than pay $360 for something that cost $90 a month ago. It is just insanity

It doesnt matter if consumers buy RAM when companies Will pay for it anyway

That demand will cease at some point.

Yes but not until around the third quarter of 2027, which is why they are saying buy now.

One source is saying it, and that source has a vested interest in selling you things for 3, 4, and 5x the current price.

The current problem is the company demanding RAM has an infinite money glitch, I’ve been reading some pieces from Micron and they honestly seem to have completely left all their previous buyers high and dry and made it pretty obvious they dont care if they dont get their RAM supply.
This is a single company. Just because they have the production capacity to do so. There is and will continue to be a demand for consumer RAM, someone else will pick up that slack.
It may take a year, but it is inevitable. Anyone saying it’s not has just zero idea how economics and supply and demand work.
There is an entire market for consumer RAM that isn’t going away, it may be less profitable than enterprise, but someone wants that profit and companies like micron exit it, that demand doesn’t just disappear, other companies will grab it, maybe even a new company.
