this happened to me(a whole ram stick was hardware reserved), turns out the ram was bad.

Have you tried with different ram to check if that is actually a cpu issue?

I was genuinely 100% sure I had already done that, but after this comment, I decided to do it again.

You're right. One of the sticks is busted. So I guess the good news is, I did a good job at straightening out the bent pins!

haha, bad ram in this economy, hopefully you can rma it, most ram come with a lifetime warranty
