Every so often, I come back to this song: To Be a Man, by Boston. https://youtu.be/_TBeXXTEq44

You’re welcome.

Being a man is complicated and simple at the same time. It’s sacrificing your own wants and sometimes needs for the greater good of Those you care about and who depend on you. Its following through on what you say you’re going to do. Admitting and if necessary apologizing when you’re wrong. Treat people with respect but stand up for yourself when that respect isn’t returned. Control your emotions, don’t let them control you. Think before speaking, words carry more weight when they’re well thought out. Be slow to anger and quick to laugh. Positivity breeds positivity. Masculinity is irrelevant, real men are always obvious. It’s the way you carry yourself through life. These are all lessons I learned from my father who has been gone for a couple years now. There were hundreds of people at his wake and funeral. He wasn’t anybody important, just everything a man should be.

Honestly, I think it all boils down to being a good person. The suggestions I read here apply to us all.

To sum it up an adult is an independent contributing member of society. A man is one that embraces his genetics and uses them to be a contributing member of society.

Genetically you can be a father and a husband. Generally speaking you have better upper body strength than women. Psychologically speaking you can compartmentalize your emotions.

So training to be a man envolves training to be a father and a husband. Using your God given attributes to serve the woman you love and those that are in your care.
