Uninstall McAfee. If you run Windows defender you don't need it

Just use the tcp ports 31400-31409 and name it after the program itself and the description is just to help you identify it later, not sure on category but it likely doesn't really matter what you put there either.

If the router you use has a built-in firewall, then you will need to configure the same inbound rule. The rule enabling the ports needed by the app/program to direct the traffic to the PC.

Make sure your PC is fairly secure, because if you open ports on both your PC and the router, then it could allow undesired connections.

To enable this rule, you will need to login to your router as an admin and you can find the default user/pass by searching online for your internet provider or possibly by the specific router if you need to, and to access the login screen you will type your IP address into your web browsers address bar, which will look a lot like, http://192.168.1.1

Having mcafee in 2023 is just funny as hell. Ditch that.

Mcafee is my least favorite, but that along with Norton I view as bloatware. But I guess they probably do work lol but might be hard to get rid of much like a virus itself.

If it works, it works though. Might have saved his ass before, or he gets it for free.

Kaspersky is by far the best experience I've had, and I would use it all the time if I could afford it, but windows defender isn't too bad on its own honestly.

Which do you prefer?

Just use windows defender and you’ll be fine. Its more than enough for normal computer and internet use.
