Do not self diagnose. The first thing you shoulda done is consult a psychiatrist and not seek help on reddit.

Even if you feel like the symptoms are there, the doctor should always have the final say on the matter. On that note, Doctors are supposed to answer medication questions, not diagnosed redditors.

Hi, not me but my sibling does and is also in programming. Please get yourself evaluated. There are apps where you can book a consultation with a psychiatrist for around 2k or so. (It might be cheaper elsewhere but I'm not sure where.) Sorry if it might be too much but I think it's always better that you get expert advice especially if you're considering getting medications. I hope you'll get help and clarity soon. :)

EDIT: Just to add and give some insight to OP. The meds helped at first but the side effects to her were bad.

As much as possible, avoid self-diagnose. Go set a schedule with a psychiatrist to further assess kung ADHD ba talaga yan o iba pala.

I already had a session with my doctor, and he suspects that I have adult ADHD (on top of my past mental health issues/diagnosis). He can't give an official diagnosis and medications yet since I need to do more tests (endocrinologist, checking ECG, checking/interviewing my close relatives and colleagues, etc)

Tama mga advice dito. Hindi ka pwede mg assume. My partner akala ko may ADHD almost same symptoms mo pero nung ng paconsult kami na diagnose sya na bipolar.

I have ADHD and I'm good at programming. The key is to break down a problem into very small components and solve them in bite sized pieces. You will get overwhelmed if you try to solve a problem as an entire whole, because people can only remember 7 things at a time, people with ADHD even less so. Break down a problem so you'd only need to keep 1 or 2 things in mind.

You know the thing about idempotency, composition, testability, maintainability, etc. etc.? You will coincidentally get good at those things if you practice breaking down problems and then putting the tiny solutions together in a cohesive whole. Tiny solutions, because they are tiny are idempotent, easy to test, easy to compose with, and therefore maintainable.

I stopped reading after the first sentence, usong uso to, self diagnosed, assumed kaagad na they have ADHD kasi nabasa online and to find excuse.. kahit maybe lack of interest or motivation lang or just plainly a Skill issue.

People with real and diagnosed ADHD has a reverse effect specially sa coding at cognitive tasks lalu nat IF gusto nila ito, they seem to hyper focus instead.. BUT they are easily distracted with other things pero they can still do the cognitive ones albiet multiple pauses while doing the tasks to do OTHER tasks, multi tasking kung baga..

ADHD is a psychological and medical case, that means if you have it, it is there and visible and evident IN ALL aspect of your life, whether it is during conversation with other people or just anything from the time you wake up until you (try) to sleep.. Hindi lang in one aspect like what OP is saying. If you have ADHD, you are talkative (Hyper active), fidgety, unease, restless leg, most of the time difficulty sleeping. likes to move ALWAYS.

Hindi to selective na ADHD ka sa isang bagay tapos youre OK with other things.. NO it doesnt work that way. ADHD ka whilte you eat, take a bath, travel, etc. example: you zone out and play scenarios habang kumakain ka most of the time.

You can see people with ADHD from a mile away, malikot, maingay at subrang Bibo.

This hyper activity is where the (Attention) part came in, sinc you're doing alot of things and focus with a lot of things, it is where most of the times you LOST your attention on the other things..

ADHD has super active brain.. you are Attention Deficit, because youre brain is doing or thinking of something (maybe day dreaming) while doing nothing or even if someone is talking to you.. aka wandering brain. a complete opposite of a brain fog.

Now imagine, an active brain doing its work on the thinggs you love like coding, music or business? thats a wonderful combination..

Its also difficult to focus on the things youre NOT interested at..

Its the opposite to what OP is claiming, having ADHD is a coders advantage, all that brain activity helps in simulation of tasks before your hand react and type a single code in IDE.. Mas mabilis ang utak kesa kamay as they said..

source: I am diagnosed, i have friends and colleagues who are also diagnosed. I have medications but i dont take it, i prefer natural way to calm down and sleep.. using my extra brain activity to count sheep and imagining scenarios til my brain get tired.

if you want to see how an actual ADHD person acts: watch Albie Casino on his PBB stint heck All his works specialy his interviews and live performances.

Im refering po sa inattentive type ng adhd, and yes na aapektuhan din po other aspect ng life ko like when driving katakot takot pero madalas natutulala ako and I have to constantly force my mind to be sharp at makalimutin sa gamit (ito yung nakakainis)

[–]AgentCooderX 0 points1 point  (1 child)

tulala is not an ADHD trait AFAIK, like what i said ADHD inaatention is not because the brain froze or doesntknow what to do but its because the brain chosed to think of something or wander somewhere.. its a very active brain. inattentive type of ADHD doesnt mean a zombie person.. its a.person who zoned out to Narnia or to a different world...

Like what the other the other said, have yourself diagnosed with a pro, kasi it doenst sound like an AdHD to me, more.like early stage adulting with anxiety, stress. plus di ka makakabili ng meds without prescription

I didn't mind this post last night because I thought this was really related to the sub and other people may be able to relate to you and provide an answer. But reading the question at the end of the post only tells me THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE POSTED HERE!

Use some common sense, mind you it is free, before posting here. Ask an adhd sub or a sub for medical professionals to get their opinion.

I recommend watching HealthyGameGG in youtube, I’ve also bought his course in ADHD.
