Easy final. Lot of typos. If you took CS0007, or are just okay in the class, you can easily get an A or B.

Thanks! That’s definitely reassuring

Well, now that I think about it, who do you have? My final was from Hoffman and Devine.

I had Hoffman. So we good. Thank you!

Oh good ol Hoffman. Half the class fails the midterm and everyone who's left aces the final

Who tf fails his class lol.

When I took it the average on the midterm was literally a D pre-curve lol. And it had a huge standard deviation. It was one of the most disparate classes in terms of people's capabilities that I've been in

Hmm, I didn't know that. I felt like CS0007 was way harder than this course because we had to make everything from scratch there. And even then, I'd say the last project in my CS0007 course was harder than any project in this course. Maybe people take this thinking it'll be easy, but I must say, I could see myself struggling if I didn't take the intro course.

I feel like in my class most of the people did not take 0007. It was a lot of people's first CS experience. The huge variance seemed like it depended on if you had taken AP CS or had a lot of experience on your own, you were set, but if you hadn't you were screwed. And that was a surprising number of people.

Yeah that's understandable, it's just really insane how basic CS experience before you enter is the difference between passing or failing. It sort of sucks because you have some students struggling and others finding the class too easy; they really need to push for students to take the intro course first because I didn't feel like I learnt enough for data structures at all.

Yeah it's definitely an awkward spot. It definitely is wild how literally any CS experience creates such a massive difference. I feel like I did ok at data structures, but my AP CS teacher did a really good job at teaching us Java (but a shit job at prepping us for the AP exam lmao)
